Degree: Public Health

The program is great for people who have no background in public health at all. If you have any schooling or experiencing in PH or any PH related subject try a different school. Most of the curriculum is focused on teaching very basic PH concepts. The program was recently changed and these changes have really downgraded the program as a whole. Also they seem to be losing faculty members, and many of the faculty members that do remains seem overwhelmed and unable to really connect with students in... Read More

Boston University as a lot to offer for its students along with the faculty. The school itself is reputable and resourceful. I enjoyed my time at Boston University.

BU's School of Public Health offers a great graduate program that helps to prepare you for a career in public health. The certificate system allows for you to gain multiple sets of skills, and able to handle real world issues. Every class I've taken at this school has in some way held value for me, even if it did not particularly contribute to my concentration. There's always something to learn that is interesting and relevant to health care today. The epidemiology and biostatistics programs in particular... Read More

I received my MPH with a concentration in epidemiology. My biggest complaint about BU's MPH program is its lack of faculty and program support. My assigned faculty advisor left after my first semester and I never was given another one. I also found the career services severely lacking. I received very minimal help with resume and cover letter prep and job hunting. BU is very expensive and I felt that the classes were too large and the program too big to provide the type of mentorship and guidance... Read More

BUPSH is a great school but the location is not the best. I've had great professors and courses so far. It's an overall great environment to be completing graduate level courses.

I am currently pursuing a Master's of Public Health degree from Boston University. This program offers an incredible opportunity for experience & knowledge gain. The faculty are the best I've ever experienced; they're all highly regarded in their respective fields and do all that they can to help their students. Outside of the classroom, BUSPH, while located in Boston, provides an incredible amount of opportunity for gaining experience. Completion of the degree requires that students partake in a... I love the public health graduate program at Boston University! I am surrounds by impressive peers, and I know that I am receiving a great education. I am not only inspired by my courses, but challenged as well. The biggest downside of the program is the cost of living in the area, and the steep price of education.

The MPH program is an amazing opportunity filled with multiple components and the ability to customize your studies. The price however, is less than desirable.

BUSPH has a well established, and still growing masters of public health program that I am thrilled to be a part of. The professors are wonderful and the staff is so supportive of all the students.

The MPH degree that the school offers to students is so expensive that people can do the same degree twice at other places in USA for the same money. There is no difference in the courses offered at this University.

The BU Masters of Public Health program provides a comprehensive view of public health through coursework across interest and discipline including biostatistics, epidmeiology, socio-behavioral health, and enviornmental health. Within each concentration (mine is epidemiolgy & maternal and child health), students are given the analytic tools to succeed in the field and are exposed to professionals who work in the field through great connections. The campus is extremely diverse, open-minded, and generally... Read More

The affordability of living for a grad student is quite high because many students live in apartments throughout Boston which are very expensive. The school has a great facility with excellent resources and professors. Their scholarship opportunities are great and make school a lot more affordable. I would recommend this program to anyone!

Boston University's Public Health Program is great! Professors are really kind and really take the time out to help their students. There are a lot of opportunities to get involved! Boston also has a lot of hospitals and other institutions so that students can obtain great hands on experience.

The lack of diversity is the biggest blaring con to this program. The expected level of academic ability is high, which is a good consistency to present to future employers or other peers.
