The Doctor of Public Administration program has decent core classes, but the dissertation is a "bait and switch" scam designed to keep students on the tuition hook for years. Months will pass to receive mentor feedback and the approval of simple forms takes entire terms. The institution gets your money by forcing you to fill out forms and taking an entire term to reply, usually with a generic response, making the dissertation process take years when it should be relatively straight forward. I do... Read More

Capella University has an exceptional atmosphere for learning and challenging students engage one another on topics of the day. Specifically, Capella University uses real-world cases that challenge students to ask tough questions and dig in to the details as to why something happened and examine cause and relationship factors. Capella's doctoral program gives working adults a chance to achieve their academic dreams. I completed my Bachelor's and Master's at traditional brick-and-mortar universities. I really had wanted to pursue my doctorate, however after entering the workforce and needing to pay bills, living on a graduate student's stipend is not realistic or always possible. I was able to begin my doctorate with Capella online part-time, and it has definitely been worth it. It is not easy. You are held accountable... Read More

Capella university has offered me everything I wanted in a doctoral program. They have good degree programs, and a great student support staff. I can get answers in less than 24 hours. You will find this very important. I study 100% online, this allows me many more opportunities than if I was to go to a campus.

I am currently enrolled in a doctoral program at Capella University. The format of this program is geared towards working adults and fits wonderfully with my busy professional/personal life. I would highly recommend this school to others based upon the instruction, opportunities to travel and engage in a colloquium and flexibility of the programs.

I am currently a student with Capella University, pursuing the Doctorate of Public Administration. I am not new to Capella University since I obtained my Masters in Criminal Justice with the University as well. However, the longer I remain with the University the worst the Financial Aid department becomes. I have compared the tuition rates with other online universities, and Capella is far more expensive than some of the ones I have compared them with. However, I am too far to turn around. My perspective... Read More

I have 2 BS degrees, a MS, and an MBA. I wanted to advance my education and a doctorate degree was the next option. I debated several online schools until I settled on Capella. The instructors hold doctorates from some very prestigious schools. The program was not easy and was very challenging. If you are lazy dont do this program. There is alot of work and even getting to the dissertation phase is insane. I will appreciate my doctorate when I get it because I know how challenging the process was.... Read More

After attending school at a brick and mortar institution, I can say that the courses at Capella were on par with a typical college and for the most part more difficult. The challenge was not met with anything but extraordinary professors who were more than willing to assist in any way possible, much more than I experienced at my campus university. I am currently looking at a doctoral program through Capella because of the success and challenge I found in their MPA program.
