There is a wide variety of scores listed on this review site. For me, Capella met all of the areas that I held to a high standard. The higher education you seek, the more you have to figure things out. In my experience, if I need direction from a professor, I make the attempt to get on their schedule. Do not procrastinate your work and expect the professors to drop everything to address your needs. Your priority may not be theirs. Payments/Financial Aid. I am blessed that I did not have to go through a payment program so I cannot give any reviews on that. Education: I was highly interested in the field I chose so for me, the countless numbers of papers were not chores, but something that is actually applicable to my work experience. I kept my resources within 2 years to make sure they were still relevant. Speaking of resources, make sure you understand technology, APA, and working the different platforms Capella (and other online schools use). Again don't wait until last minute like Sunday night at 11pm and wonder why nothing is working fast. Overall, I would recommend Capella, but just make sure you are ready to commit to the process.

Their learning is set up in an acceptable manner, however feedback is often not timely. Their FlexPath Financial Aid is a joke. The rules change, or should I say the rules they cite change regularly with out notification. There is no accountability at all. I have multiple emails guaranteeing that my Financial Aid was covered when it was not. Leaving me with a large bill. I even extended a class on their recommendation due to a supposed change in the deadline, this is just costing me significant funds.... I am a single mother and working a full-time job as well. I am currently working towards my Master's in Human Resources. Capella has made this journey easy simply due to the online classes, counselors, professors, and Dr.s that teach classes. The staff is very knowledgeable and has brought awareness to ideas in areas of the realm of the Human Resource world I would have never thought of. Any time I have called Capella with a question or concern they have always had answers and were very prompt with... Read More the answers. This includes financial aid to academic planning. I feel the program I am in is very valuable and I have witnessed the things I have learned being implemented in my current workplace.

The program is phenomenal over all. In terms of the online courseroom experience, it has been very "do able". At first I thought that I would struggle with the online format. This has not been the case. With the exception of one class that required a live video feed for a discussion with the professor, it has been a smooth transition. The professors have been very helpful and it is obvious that they are knowledgeable in the areas that they are teaching. Also, I appreciate their professional experience... Read More that they bring into the course, this adds to the knowledge base. The only area that I have had an issue with the technological aspect. Specifically, "Turnitin" gives you an option to upload your assignment from Google Drive but the link doesn't work. It would be very helpful if it was fixed as this would enhance my experience much more. I do all my work in Google Chrome so having this fixed would save me a lot of time.

Applying to Capella University has been one of the best decisions I've made. The online application process was very simple, and the academic adviser was always available to help me with any questions or concerns I had, and any changes I wanted to make to my program. The courses are challenging, but it's very rewarding as I turn in the weekly assignments...especially in the final week. These courses have definitely helped me in my current federal career in Human Resources. I have a much better understanding of how everything works, and I feel more confident on the job than ever. I am excited to complete my program and earn my Master's Degree, which will only help me climb the federal career ladder.

I am a current student at Capella University; and have been for a year now. I'm in the Masters Program to receive my Human Resource Management degree. Already, I've applied my studies to my current HR Generalist role. In fact, I am working toward a promotion at this time. Having this degree will push me forward in the right direction personally and professionally. I am in my final course at Capella and all I can say is how grateful I am that I chose Capella to obtain my MS in Human Resource Management. The classes are fulfilling, relevant and interactive. You get what you put in. If you apply yourself and take pride in your work, you will be rewarded. I have not run into any issues with my financial aid and consider Capella to be just as costly as any other graduate school so I guess I am not understanding people comments on it being expensive. What graduate... Read More school isn't expensive? Some programs (i.e. MBA) cost more than others (i.e. MS,HRM) and I guess that is to be expected given the demand. What I like about the MS,HRM is that you get a hypothetical simulation called CapraTek which learners must apply different HR principals to the situation over the 10 week course. Not only are the hypothetical completely HR relevant but they are extremely fascinating and keeps learners engaged. I am sure the different schools have it's own version of this but these are the things that I look forward to in each course. These are things that you pay for. Also, Capella MS, HRM program is recognized Society for Human Resources Management (SHRM) and the Human Resources Certification Institute (HRCI) as being accredited and aligned with their professional standards. I suggest others research the various societies for their school before making any commitment to any school. Not just Capella. I think people get the idea that with it being online, courses are more relaxed, which cannot be further from the truth. You have to create your own classroom setting and stick to your plan. Since there isn't a physical classroom, you have to find a designated area where you can focus and be successful. No one will hold your hand. Counselors and professors will be there to help as needed and I have experienced nothing short with the except for one bad Prof. I will end with this: many of these professors have been teaching for years at prestige universities, have written peer reviewed articles, hold various credentials, written best selling books, been keynote speakers, etc. I do not believe for a minute that if Capella wasn't legit, that these highly skilled and professional professors would ever considering working for a school with poor reputation knowing that can lead to an end of a career.

As a MS, Human Resource Management learner, I've found the program to be absolutely awesome. Originally, I was enrolled in the MPA program and was going to also obtain my Post Bacc. Once I graduate, I will seek my PHR (Professional Human Resources) credential. Luckily, Capella offers a credited course preparing learners for the test ( This also includes preparing learners for the SPRH and GPRH credentials if they so choose to seek them). The Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) recognizes Capella's MS, HRM program and the course aligns with SHRM HR curriculum. Not only that, but what I am learning directly impact my current role as a HR Assistant. I use knowledge gained from courses at Capella and apply them to my job. It is very rewarding. As for tuition, is it expensive? Sure, but it is no more than a typical graduate program at any other school whether they are for profit or not. I am paying less as a grad student then I did while going to the University of Wisconsin - Madison as an undergrad. I noticed the much of the negative feedback have come from learners taking psychology courses with Capella. I cannot speak for this program specifically but I can say that every program is different and it is important to get a variety of opinion.
