Capella University is a transformative institution that empowers professionals to pursue their educational dreams while juggling their careers and families. As a healthcare professional who embarked on two master's degree programs with Capella—an MSN in Nursing Education and an MSN in Leadership and Administration—I can attest to the extraordinary experience it offers. Capella's support and flexibility have inspired me to chart my educational path towards an MBA in Healthcare Management and a Doctorate,... Read More
What truly sets Capella apart is its innovative FlexPath learning model. As a father and full-time healthcare provider, finding the time to balance work, family, and education seemed impossible—until I found Capella. The FlexPath option, with its unique flexibility and personalized pace, allowed me to pursue my degrees without compromising the quality of my education or family life. This model is a game-changer for any parent or working professional, offering a pathway to success that many traditional universities cannot match.
At Capella, the faculty and staff are not just educators but mentors deeply invested in your success. Their unwavering support, empathy, and respect make you feel valued and understood throughout your journey. Capella's programs are designed with rigor and excellence, setting high standards that ensure the quality of your degrees. You don't just receive a diploma—you earn it through dedication, hard work, and commitment. But you're never alone in this journey. The compassionate and diligent faculty provide expert guidance, ensuring you're well-prepared for real-world application of the knowledge you gain.
Capella's prestige and credibility are further bolstered by its partnership with New York-Presbyterian Columbia Irving Medical Center (NYPH), one of the most esteemed healthcare institutions in the country. The fact that NYPH offers preceptorships and practice placements for Capella graduates instilled a deep confidence in the programs I was pursuing. The alignment of an institution of NYPH's caliber with Capella speaks volumes about the university's commitment to producing competent, well-prepared professionals ready to impact the healthcare industry significantly.
As I continue pursuing my MBA in Healthcare Management and plan for a Doctorate, I am sure that Capella is setting me up for success in both civilian and professional life. Capella ensures that its graduates are academically prepared and respected in the industry. The flexibility, academic rigor, and unmatched support Capella offers are why I tell my coworkers, family, and friends about the incredible experience I have had here.
Capella University is ideal for those looking to balance school, work, and family life. It offers the flexibility, respect, and rigorous education needed to thrive in a competitive and fast-paced world. Whether you want to pursue a master's, an MBA, or even a doctorate, Capella gives you the tools to succeed. I have no complaints, only deep gratitude for the opportunities Capella has provided me and my family.
This is based on my personal experience.
I also received good feedback from my peers, both civilian and military, so I chose Capella. Everything is about the experience.

I chose the flex path for both my BSN and MSN-education. I'm not a great test taker and now that I've been a practicing nurse for 14 years, with parenting and other responsibilities, this path worked well for me. I saw some nurses complete their degrees in one or two billing cycle but I took a little over a year for each degree. Flex path allowed me to write papers on my expertise, hospice. Some where so good I was encouraged to publish. I feel that I learned more about hospice by writing papers... Read More

Some professors were easy while others made it hard for no reason! Its typical nursing school! I chose flexpath which was easier to breeze through classes and it was affordable . My academic coach was trash. My self and several other students had complaints!

I graduated from the Master of Science in Nursing - Nursing Education via the FlexPath program. I did the RN to MSN track since I had a BA in another area and really wanted the MSN degree for my educational goals. The flex path program is designed for students with some academic experience who can keep themselves motivated. I completed the program in 9 months. Each class has 3-6 "assessments," which are clearly laid out for the students. A rubric is provided for each assessment to guide the students.... Read More

I just completed my Capstone on May 7, 2023. I have had a lot going on in my life and some stumbling blocks come about. I'm am proud of myself as a single parent of 2 working full-time and being able to complete my MSN in Leadership and Administration Program. I look forward to the road that lies ahead. I Had a great experience attending Capella University. I had great professors that were very supportive and very encouraging as well. I did my research before picking this school and saw many mixed reviews, however, I decided to go with Capella because they offer the flex path program which gave me the option to complete my degree at my own pace. I also feel the university is very affordable compared to other online programs. Overall great learning experience through this university!

I took the flex path option for both my BSN and MSN and loved the self paced, competency based program. I wrote almost all my papers on my passion, hospice. I was encouraged to publish several papers by my professors and created a hospital based end of life educational program with my BSN and a college institute high fidelity simulation for my MSN Capstone for the college I teach at. With a full time job and family, I felt this path gave me so much experience and satisfaction as a student. Many students... Read More

Please do not waste your time, energy and/or money on their flexpath program. Coaches offer no guidance and steer you wrong. You do not have autonomy over your academics. Heaven forbid life gets in the way, it is held against you. LOOK ELSEWHERE!!!!!

I took the Flex program for my MSN and I am appalled by the treatment I have received from the Academic advisers and financial advisers. I had to take a leave of absence after working the front lines during the peak of COVID and then getting COVID. They told me and supported me with taking a "Leave of Absence", then billed me a FULL TUITION charge for a class I did not complete!! I am so disappointed in the lack of empathy and just decency. I dropped out of the program because of it. I will never... Read More

I have nothing but good to say about this school/university. I got both my BSN and MSN here and am about to sign back up for the DNP program. Beware of negative reviews where people complain of not succeeding because that is a direct reflection on them and their study ethic. If you are not a self-starter, self-motivated learner, you won't do well in ANY school. The one who are complaining would complain if they had signed up at Harvard or Yale then complained about how expensive it was. Come on folks....DO... Read More

The Capella University on-line program is excellent. My course of study included the Guidepath way; this worked for me because I am an older student who needed the assurance that someone would be there to "guide" me through the on-line process. In particular, the complimentary trial course sealed the deal, because it gave an introduction to the LMS of Blackboard. A user-friendly product, which boosted my confidence level, and allowed me to attain the MSN in Nursing Education at my own pace. I looked... Read More

My experience with Capella has been wonderful. I have found the professors to be responsive and engaged, and the courses to be challenging. Capella University is a great place for online learning. I was a little skeptical towards the idea of doing a fully online course, as my undergraduate was a hybrid course structure with 1 day a week in the classroom. However, that skepticism was quickly relieved during my first course. The academic advising and instructor teams are great. The instructors appear to always be available for asking questions, getting direction on assignments, and respond to any needs. Another great thing about this online... Read More

I transferred to Capella from a "brick-and-mortar" university where I also received my BS degree. I have had better experiences with Capella while obtaining my MSN than I did at my former school (no problems obtaining my BS). The course work at Capella is just as challenging. I appreciate the fact that there are no group assignments like there were at my former school. I work with other people every day at work and have been for years. I don't need the frustration of group assignments to prove that... Read More

So I did the RN to MSN program with Capella university and I must say it was a overall good experience. I had one class in which I would have my papers reviewed before I submitted them and twice received a grade of 50 with no real explanation and that was discouraging. But aside from that one class and professor (I requested not to have them again for any future classes) my experience was good. If I had questions or concerns I could always reach out to the professors. If they felt I was lacking in... Read More

I am currently still still in school for my MSN. I have 3 kids and was very scared to do this on line course. Capella University has a very challenging curriculum that has showed me I am up to the challenge. I am one year in and still holding a 4.0 GPA. It just proves that if you want to achieve something you just have to put your mind to it. The staff is very helpful and challenges the students on a daily basis.

Similar to other reviews, I cannot understand why some reviewers have given Capella bad - and some terrible - reviews. I've been with Capella University for a few years, and the only issue I can honestly say I have is with the changes made in how we obtain our text books... That's it. Otherwise, each and every one of my instructors have been phenomenal - granted, some more than others - but all were wonderful in their own right and each had their strengths. But, they all had a great deal of experience,... Read More

I have to have a graduate date to review, but I did not stay with this college. The class I took when I started my master's was easy. The financial aid office messed up my money situation. They did not tell me, I had to find this out after it was too late. I tried multiple times to get it straightened out, and spent countless hours on the phone with different departments. No help. Finally, I quit and enrolled in a normal school with a great support system. I am left owing them money for their mistake... Read More
