I highly recommend Capella's Flex path program to working professionals who already have working experience. I finished my undergrad in 1 year (having previously completed an AAS) and my MBA in another two years. Building off of almost 10 years of professional experience, I found the coursework to fill in gaps in my professional and educational experience that have prepared me for the next season of my career. I compared the curriculum of the FlexPath MBA program to other schools across U.S.A. over a few months. The evaluation of most schools led me back to Capella University. The customer value proposition of curriculum, online-learning, self-pacing to complete each course, the tuition rate, financial aid, and the positions held by graduates across the country more than suggested that Capella's program was the right choice. Most assignments offer instant takeaways to put into practice; I can debate with confidence with other MBA's in the market. If you're seeking an MBA, yet have time and budget limitations, Capella U FlexPath MBA program will position you over 12-18 months to raise your market value.

Capellas FlexPath is a standout option in the world of online universities. Capellas program is robust, self-driven, and challenging - things that were very important to me. FlexPath is sold as a flexible way to complete a degree program, but it's so poorly executed that I can't recommend it to anyone. There is vast inconsistency in how each course is presented. Most are sorely lacking in resources to complete the course, or are so vague in their resource recommendations that you'll need to be entirely self-sufficient. Where software is needed (e.g. statistics), there is virtually zero guidance on which package to use or how to obtain it for free or at a discount (Other... Read More than SAS, which is impossible to learn quickly enough to be useful). Policy regarding academic engagement are not aligned with the website rules, so if you're interacting in spurts (as will be the case with most professionals), you'll be annoyed with warnings and the occasional course drop even though you've not violated policy. It really could be a great program with some attention, but in 2.5 years that I've been enrolled it's not improved. My advice, keep looking.

Great program, and very applicable to real world business. Focused on leadership methodologies and theories which I could apply immediately. Each class was a learning opportunity and not just an exercise to get my degree. Capella's professors provided good guidance and feedback on submitted assessments. Tutors were always available though I didn't have to use their service. Capella University is a great school with classes that are pertinent to current business standards. They focus on teaching students how business models apply to everyday wroking solutions and not just rote memory of concepts. The downsides are that their classroom setup is a little stiff restriciting an ease of conversation across discusions thread.Also, the way thier financial aid for MBA students has a interesting setup that was hard to follow at first but the staff is more that willing to assist... Capella University has helped me develop as a person, student, and employee. I feel that the online Masters of Business Administration program offered by Capella helps push students to become technologically savvy; as well as, independent. I can not put into words what Capella means to me. I originally started my MBA with Capella back in 2005 but had to stop the following year. I just recently restarted my degree endeavor in April 2011 and was surprised by the welcome I received from the admissions staff. They bent over backwards to assist me in the degree completion process. My counselor was also able to get me going with the degree and helped me save nearly $2000 from jump street. Now, I am only 5 courses from graduating and will earn my MBA in Global Operations and Supply Chain Management in the spring. At work, I have already seen a benefit from my degree. I also posted my resume on line and get multiple calls from various recruiters and employers. Also, every few months, an advisor contacts me to discuss my future course selections and my educational plan. It is definitely a positive experience. Whenever I have had issues, the advisor assists in remedying them within a few days.

I would suggest that anyone that is desiring to attend Capella take a moment and assess all those negative reviews about Capella and see the commonality in them - they all have problems and blame the problems on the school. I found that even in my undergraduate school, similar negative scenarios played out with some students. I had negative experiences during undergrad and was able to overcome them and graduate but everyone has a different experience. Some people just can't see beyond the forest and know there is a wide open meadow beaming with sunshine ahead. I pray your Capella experience is similar to mine.
