I am half-way through my Masters in Public Administration (MPA) degree at Capella University. I am taking one class per quarter, which has been a good pace for me while I work full-time and maintain my normal life. I received my BA in Political Science from the University of California, Irvine (UCI) in 1992, attending in the traditional manner. My studies at Capella are all on-line. I will echo the other positive reviews regarding Capella’s graduate programs. If you are disciplined, and know what... Read More

The pros of this platform is that you get the freedom to work around your other responsibilities in life without interference. This way is more conducive with the learning process for myself, because I do not feel overwhelmed or rushed. The cons are that the curriculum is average, and I feel as though I am still an undergraduate opposed to a doctoral student. Many of the classes I have had already in my Master's program, and I am not building upon that knowledge to grow. I feel as though I am staying... Read More

The Public Administration Graduate Program is adequate and extremely knowledge-based (in my opinion). The course materials are easily accessible and relevant to the course content. At times, the work can be overwhelming; especially when taking more than one course. However, if you pay attention and complete the assigned readings, the discussion and assignments shouldn't be so time-consuming. Compared to the average community college, Capella's tuition is rather costly. Beginning the 2015 Summer quarter,... Read More

Degree: Public Administration
Capella is predominantly an online institution that offers courses on its main campus. I like that Capella provides the course information, expectations, and coursework upfront. That allows me to get a head start on my work and access old information and work that I've submitted. The professors that I've had thus far have been very helpful and were always available to provide assistance. In my opinion, the student advising component is excellent! The coursework is very thought-provoking and relevant... Read More

I picked Capella because of the Public Administration program which I saw was not as good in other colleges. Overall, the work is decent and the professors are respectful and fair. This is something that students look for when attending a college. The cons are some of the course work is redundant, but the school does receive comments and try to change to satisfy the student.

Capella offers more than just a degree program, they provide many opportunities for us online learners to have communities, they provide a ton of support in every area, the resources that we get included with tuition are phenomenal and I believe that it's worth every penny. In comparison with others that have gone or are currently going I believe my education far outweighs theirs and that I will be better prepared for opportunities to come.
