I was a student at Florida State University for 4.5 years. I knew I loved the school, the people, and the entire city of Tallahassee as a whole, but I don't think I really knew how much until I left Tallahassee and moved back home to Miami. See, every small part of Florida State University plays a huge role in your life. The school in and of itself is one of the most magnificent places I've ever been. From the brick buildings to the big oak trees, the hills, etc. the school is beyond aesthetically... Read More pleasing. The school offers so many classes and really takes a pride in making sure that their students are not only receiving the best level of education possible, but happy while doing it. Every Wednesday there is "Market Wednesday" in the schools union where students, faculty, and guests can shop, watch live performances, and eat lunch outside. The football games would leave anyone speechless. From the football players themselves to the wonderful Marching Chiefs (the band), the entire sight is completely memorizing. The people at FSU are incredible, to say the least. Your professors, well all of the faculty really, do their absolute best to aide you in anything you need no matter the time or effort it takes them. The locals own, operate, and pour their hears into their business and the businesses of others. They tailgate every single game day because they love the Seminoles the same way as the students do, if not more. The students, the ones who became friends and even the ones who didn't, are on the same path intellectually and morally as each other student beside them. The city of Tallahassee all in all is a place that welcomes all people. It is a city filled with southern charm, kind and conscientious people, and an entire population that bleeds the same colors, Garnet and Gold.

I graduated in the fall of 2016, with my major in Editing, Writing, and Media. I will say that the instructors I had during my time were excellent. They cared for their students and were willing to extend any help in order to achieve individual success. Overall, the courses for my major were pretty vague and often the descriptions were misleading of the actual nature of the course. While I love writing, I believe the EWM track at FSU is better as a secondary major (even minor) rather than a primary.... Read More The requirements are very short, and the courses you can choose from are somewhat limiting, and often times the ones that seemed most intriguing were never offered or always filled due to such limited availability. If i were to give any advice, it's to look into the communication's programs because they often incorporate similar content to EWM, expect much more applicable to future career opportunities!

I loved going to FSU. A few people have ruined the reputation of a great university. FSU has so much to offer students. There are tons of majors to choose from with classes taught by some really wonderful professors. The university has a thriving Greek life, but there are also over 500 other clubs and organizations to join if you don't want to join a fraternity or sorority- honor's societies, skydiving clubs, service organizations and more. You can even help run the campus movie theater. FSU International... Read More Programs has study centers in the heart of London, England; Valencia, Spain; Florence, Italy; and Panama City, Panama. They also offer study programs in 11 other countries. I spent a summer abroad in London, and it was an absolutely incredible experience and the program was flawlessly run. FSU also has lots for students to do on campus. There's a movie theater that shows a great mix of classics and recent blockbusters and is free for students. There's a bowling alley, a pottery painting studio, and a club/ music venue in the student union. The FSU School of Theatre puts on top notch shows and musicals. There are two different gyms with tons of group exercise classes and free personal training. Of course, athletics and sporting events are a huge part of FSU, and all games are free to students. I loved going to Florida State. I'm so proud to be a Seminole. I made my best friends at FSU and wouldn't trade my time here for anything. It's a great place to go to college with so many options for every person and interest.
