I ran across this site while looking for information on my upcoming intensive week and I must say that I'm a bit surprised at the negative reviews of Liberty University. It has been my experience to have quick responses from all of my professors, when I email them with a question. I have also found the material presented in class extremely informative and helpful. Whenever I have called the counselors for assistance, they were patient and helpful, answering each and every one of my questions, and... Read More

I had a great experience with the educational aspect of this program. I worked part-time while doing the program and was able to balance work and classes. I also received affirmation from practicum and internship supervisors about how highly prepared I was coming from this program. The biggest challenge was finding a practicum site, which students are required to do on your own. The university will find you two internship placements. The M.Ed. School Counseling program is CACREP accredited (Council... Read More

Liberty University is a good option for anybody working while going to school. I'm sure other programs of theirs are fine but I am deeply unsatisfied with the School Counseling program, which is now in the college of behavioral sciences instead of the college of education. You are required to complete 4 intensives (on-campus classes) even if you already took those classes at a different university. Liberty will not honor them, even if they have identical rubrics and course numbers. The intensives... Read More

Wonderful online education... no true assistance with seeking outside resources for financial aid. I am at my internship and have no funding to pay for this last class. After 16 years of part-time study as a single mother I am out of a degree. In asking for advice for an internship location was told that I should either move or find one far away that I can drive too (remember key words, single mother). This school is not connected or aware of their students situation and does not pay attention. If... Read More

I am transferring out of Liberty University Online next month. I started in the summer of 2016 with high hopes of this college being worth the investment. First of all, this is a Christian University, which I understood coming into this program as someone who is not a devout Christian. I was honest with admissions by telling them that I was not very religious, although I have Christian values, and I asked if there was a substantial amount of religion incorporated into the curriculum. I was told that... Read More

I Love Liberty University, although it is a bit costly the educational experience at the school is phenomenal. I love how the school holds the Christian values in every class. The biblical aspects is always including in every class assignment. I would recommend others to attend Liberty. I would suggest they plan financially before attending.

The faculty is wonderful. Every instructor I have communicated with has been very helpful. My classes at the campus were some of the most amazing experiences of my life, and I made friends across the country. However, I think a distance grad program in counseling is lacking simply because it is a distance program. I think we do not see learn the same amount of information, and my classes were not as rigorous as other programs I have heard of. That being said, I'm glad I was able to do it online,... Read More

This graduate program offers several degrees online as well as those that can be earned on campus. By allowing students to earn a degree online, it give students the same education that one earns in a residential setting. The flexibility of doing so creates an exceptional experience for those returning to school while raising a family.

The pros for my graduate program is the online experience. The classes are awesome. Even though I am not in an actual class room. I still get to communicate with my class mates. I also love the intensives. It is so much fun to meet and work with new people. The Lynchburg area is a great area to visit even if I was not in school. I have no cons for my graduate program. I have had a wonderful experience so far and I hope that my next year will be just as rewarding.

Liberty University has continued to impressed me since I was first accepted in 2013. They were able to give me a chance to continue my education when I thought that I had very limited options. Because I take both online and intensive (on-campus) courses, my lower scores, I feel, are more reflective of my limited experiences and access to "social life", "affordability of living", and the "surrounding area". However, the quality of education, and the consideration of the professors are key factors... Read More

Having a program that can be done mostly online is something of importance to me. There are 4 separate weeks that classes must be taken on campus, but these are given at various times throughout the year to accommodate everyone's schedule. Professors quickly respond to any communication.
