Overall Liberty is an excellent school and you will receive and excellent education. I received both my Bachelor's and Master's there but am not able to continue with my Doctorate with Liberty because they don't have a program available that I could go into without completely changing my career path and area of concentration. I started with Liberty when they were a little smaller and you felt as though you received more attention from your instructors. Now the school is so big and the professors... Read More are so overwhelmed (and many are not really that qualified) that you barely get any attention at all and you feel more like a number than a student being trained to be a champion for Christ. I graduated with a Master's in Human Services Counseling - Marriage and Family and have had ZERO assistance with career search. I am very honored to be a Liberty graduate but if you need attention and need to feel special, this is not the school for you.

I chose to attend Liberty after a friend recommended the university. For me, I wanted to gain some of my education from a Christian perspective while still be able to work in a secular setting. Liberty prepared me for counseling in either a faith based or secular setting. I was taught how to integrate my faith in to my career without being unethical or offensive. I would recommend Liberty to anyone, especially non-traditional students who need a strong online program so they can further their education and career while still working and taking care of their responsibilities.

Liberty University is in all tense and purposes a good school for undergraduates. However, for Graduate programs I should have gone to the local school that I graduated from. Liberty is no help for finding a facility that will take you in for your Practicum or Internship since the majority of the online students are out of State from Virginia. Furthermore the legal department has to approve any contracts between a cite that you might find that will take you for the Practicum or Internship and then... Read More the Liberty Legal department can change the contract requirements at any given point even if you only have one week till the practicum/internship application deadline. Oh yes you have to apply for those two courses, it's an application process within the degree program and it is a major head ache. If your looking at this school for any grad program that requires a practicum or field work, look closer to home and avoid this school at all costs!!

This University makes a lot of promises with no follow through. There is very limited interaction with the professors. The only people you can talk to via phone are the academic advisors and they can't answer the majority of the questions. The other departments force you to email them, even when you need an answer right away. It is typical to not get responses to emails for days at a time. However, when I got to the point in the program in which I needed contact with their staff to complete the process, I was left without help. I know they claim to be non-profit; however, it seems the main focus is getting the tuition money and leaving the student high and dry.
