My experience with Southern New Hampshire University (SNHU) has been frustrating, particularly with their Financial Aid department. SNHU overpaid my financial aid, and since then, I鈥檝e been bombarded with harassing emails demanding an 鈥渙verpayment resolution letter.鈥� However, they provide no guidance or explanation for what such a letter should contain. Despite multiple attempts to reach out for clarification, my emails were ignored.

Worse, there's a complete lack of communication between the different... Read More departments at SNHU. The advising department doesn't seem to communicate with the financial aid office, and neither talk to the student financial services team. It feels like you're just a number, not a student who鈥檚 trying to improve their future.

SNHU doesn鈥檛 seem to care about the impact their mistakes have on students, especially when those students are relying on financial aid to better their lives. Instead of offering support, they add unnecessary stress with their lack of oversight and failure to take responsibility.
If you're considering SNHU and value your financial stability or peace of mind, I would strongly recommend looking elsewhere. This school does not prioritize its students' well-being when it comes to financial matters.

I've been attending and am graduating in less than 12 months. This is not a good program for someone who is not motivated, YOU MUST be a self-starter, or adaptable. I have attended both community colleges and an online program from another institution. SNHU is NON-PROFIT and at the date of this review, ACCREDITED. The quality of the course material is my only complaint about the online-based program - you need to be a fast learner to absorb from your coursework. For those in IT, work on your COMPTIA certs, etc on the side to be competitive once you graduate.

As others have stated you get out what you put in. Before enrolling I would really recommend taking time and properly researching the degree you wish to achieve (job satisfaction, expected growth within the field, earning potential, etc.). Once you are secure in your choice, are confident you can commit to doing the work and making the most out of each class, you should find a lot can be learned that will be beneficial to your chosen career path. I have heard people question the value of a degree from SNHU (which is understandable). I cannot speak for others but my experience has been that an SNHU degree opens doors. Less than a week after finishing (didn鈥檛 even have my diploma yet) I was offered a position making $95,000/ year, my own office, the freedom to work from home up to 3 days/ week, and a company car. 馃挴 would not hesitate to recommend SNHU...as a matter of fact, my son is now working towards his bachelor鈥檚 degree at SNHU.

Don't expect to learn a lot from this school. Everything is just about following the formula. Most of the instructors do nothing more than assigning a grade. They do not teach, but to be fair to them the online setup does not give them the opportunity to do so. Feedback from them is rarely more than 'good job'. I have been with SNHU for several years and am currently working towards a bachelors degree in Cyber Security after switching majors from Accounting. My experience here has been generally positive. I have been fortunate to have professors who have actively and eagerly participated in my classes. The assignment difficulty,... Read More quality of external tools, virtual books, etc vary from class to class, but for the most part have met or exceeded my expectations with a few exceptions. I have had advisors throughout my time here and all of them have been wonderful. Without exception every issue or concern I have had was addressed and handled with expedience and professionalism. The communication of my advisors has been stellar up this point. The best part of this whole experience has been the freedom to set and maintain my own pace/schedule (within reason). I enjoy being able to study or participate in a discussion at any hour of the day. I do wish the loan structure was a bit different. Having unsubsidized loans making up approximately 40% of my student loans is not grea, but it is what it is. Overall I feel this has been as good (if not better) than any online or local option that I would of had and I look forward to graduating and enjoying a career in my chosen profession. First starting with this school was good with very few issues, which most could be resolved within 3-10 days; however, financial aid office is terrible. They will ask you over and over for the same paperwork if one small detail is missed and they will not tell you what it is until you call them, email reply is almost a never. Started to have major issues with the certain instructors, particularly an English Comp II instructor that was very discriminating against my topic choices and actually failed... Read More me, the same report was given to another instructor in Eng Com II and they said it was great and had no issues and should have been accepted, once I submitted a dispute against this instructor, the school said she had the right to deny the topic and fail the course and that I had no right to ask other SNHU instructors to review the course. They failed me with an "F" and required to take again, the next instructor loved my topic and past me with perfect colors on the same report. This has happened to me several times, the school is only out to protect there instructors and make money. I have been with other schools and this is by far the worst one yet, I transferred out to another university. I would not recommend this school to anyone, some instructors are great and others are discriminating and the school will not do anything about it.
