This biggest issues I have is with the Administration and the poor customer service they provide to distance education students. I'm abhorred as to the treatment that I've been subjected to by their employees, which I can only assume are mostly part-time undergraduate and graduate students. The staff is profoundly incompetent and the administration seems to care less because they're probably vacationing in Adirondacks or Cape Cod for the summer and left the inmates to run the prison. I've literally... Read More

Attending SNHU's online Master's program in English is one of the best decisions I ever made. I was able to find adjunct college teaching positions within two months of graduating. All of the professors were professional and helpful. The classes all helped me improve my skills not only as a teacher, but as a writer and researcher. I would highly recommend SNHU to anyone looking to further his or her education.

SNHU'S English program stresses literary analysis, critical thinking, and written communication skills through a rigorous curriculum. I would highly recommend this university for a rewarding and enlightening learning experience! I appreciate it!!!

I previously graduated from a local school with my bachelor's degree. I decided to go to SNHU for my Master's and I wanted to do it online. I must say I was impressed. The online tools are exceptional. Each course is of course unique based on the instructor. Overall it was great. My student advisor was helpful and always available. The price was fair. The regional accreditation is the highest there is. All these are reasons I chose to go there. I'd do it again.

SNHU is a wonderful nonprofit university. \he staff is encouraging and supportive. They have helped to quickly resolve any issues which have arose. One of my instructors have been influential in setting my career goals. I can only hope to be as great a teacher as she has been.

The courses are good, or seem pretty good, and some of the profs are very good. But there are major down sides. One is that you teach yourself. The design of the courses eliminates lectures and live discussion, which should be the heart of these courses. Worse, the vast majority of students in this program are unprepared. They mostly mean well, but have shockingly little writing or analytic skills, and many of them simply put little to nothing into the courses. Since the program is based on "peer"... Read More

Avoid this university. They pass everyone. I finished my BA and almost completed an MA. The degrees are meaningless, nobody takes SNHU seriously, and with almost zero overhead, they are becoming rich off teaching absolutely nothing and making you believe you can actually do something once you graduate.

Originally started this program because they are one of a few who offer this as an online program. Came within two classes of graduation and ran into a young professor with little understanding how to manage or teach an online class. When I dropped the class the university charged me for the whole class while refusing to address concerns. It is strongly suggested you consider other options for school.

The M.A. in English and Creative Writing at Southern New Hampshire University offers an appealing degree of flexibility in selection of courses, which primarily divide along a line between creative writing courses and literature courses. That aspect of the program is certainly a valuable asset to the student dedicated to developing the writer's craft. However, the problem with this educational model is that the student inevitably encounters inconsistency in grading and in requirements for the composition... Read More

Online graduate programs, no matter how you look at it, are difficult. Not having a teacher to talk to directly can be a drawback. However, SNHU instructors, from what I can see, are great with email and phone, and most are willing to help you along the way. They are understanding when things go awry. After all--most of us have full-time jobs on top of grad school. The most difficult thing is classroom discussion. No amount of blackboard discussion can replace peer interaction and good face-to-face... Read More

I am an online student of SNHU. While I currently am employed full-time in another state, SNHU provides me the opportunity to continue education in my field. Through their online program, I am able to interact with peers, receive feedback, and challenge myself educationally weekly in an online setting.

I've tried other online programs but SNHU is by far the best. Their financial aid department is really good and they don't give you the one around. Their academic support is wonderful.

The online experience makes for better scheduling and work pace, and meeting students from all over the country provides for interesting discussion. Some of the faculty are better than others, as with any school, and the turnaround time on questions to professors is sometimes frustrating.

Being an online student at Southern New Hampshire University, I love the fact that the instructor takes the time to give feedback to all of the students within the class. The only drawback that I have about the school is its technical outages. However, the school is very quick to resolve any matters that arise with its technology. Southern New Hampshire University is a wonderful school.

I love being an SNHU student. The only reason they don't have the full amount of stars is because I am an online student/distance learner and have not been to campus, so cannot rate campus safety, surrounding area, or transportation. My classes are engaging, challenging, and relevant. The University staff are helpful, personable, and kind. Furthermore, SNHU is a highly respected, accredited school, taking steps to make earning a graduate degree possible for adults who haven't the schedule to allow... Read More

I truly enjoy the online English M.A. graduate program at SNHU! The classes are well-structured and have a great balance of interactive and independent work. Everyone I have spoken to from the school (admissions, financial aid) has been truly helpful. My academic adviser is accessible, helpful and friendly. What sets them apart is that they take a genuine interest in their students. They go above and beyond to support their students in anyway they can.

I am a wife and a high school teacher. This means my life is very busy. Southern New Hampshire University is a great school that allows me to live my life and get a quality education. I talk with friends that are doing on campus programs and it doesn't seem like I am missing anything in the education I am receiving online. My academic adviser calls me once every two weeks to make sure I am on track, and she even asks me about my life. They are a joy to work with. My only complaint is there isn't... Read More
