Just finished my last course at SNHU online. If you're serious about school, please read. The school is good but it depends on you to gain a quality education. I put my best effort and really learned some good material in my program. However, in every single class I noticed there are students who do the bare minimum, don't really follow instructions, have poor writing skills, and probably got away with it all - indicating the acceptance and grading standards are very low at this school. This makes... Read More quality feel lower because a student doing poor work might be getting the same grades as another student doing truly stellar work. There were a few professors in my program that had higher grading standards, though. It took me almost 4 years to complete my master's degree online because I work full time, didn't want to burn out with my long commutes, and wanted good grades. It's just sad that it's possible to get a degree without learning as much or without being prepared for the workforce (this is 100% on you). This might be why a lot of people think this school is a joke, this definitely needs to change. Attending a university in person was far more challenging, in my experience. In this online program, there was a lot of writing. I think I only had quizzes/exams in maybe 2-3 courses and none of those courses had methods to prevent cheating. Some online professors at other schools implement Respondus with webcams (website lockdown services to prevent cheating). SNHU should make that a requirement for all exams/quizzes to keep and promote student integrity. The rest of my courses were all research/papers. I personally liked this because I feel like I retained information better, I always have my papers for reference, and papers are checked for plagiarism. The coursework and workloads are totally fine. If could go back, I'd probably go to another school even if it meant getting lower grades because I don't like the low quality feeling of being at the same level as lazy people. If you're fine with that and you just care about doing your best, go for it because you can learn here. Overall, I am satisfied with my experience and degree. Good: -Academic counselors constantly check up on you since you're remote (counselors and financial services are helpful) -Website/online services are super easy to use -Routine weekly schedule for all courses (Example: assignments are always due Sundays and discussions are always due Thursdays) -The school is accredited and tuition was cheap (never increased in my years of attending). Bad: -Quality feels lower at times because grading/acceptance standards seem to be low since students constantly do bare minimum/poor work. -Some professors are not as responsive via email, which can affect work if you're pending on a question.

I was interested in the MBA Finance track at SNHU. I inquired about online classes and I visited the campus,. I was impressed with the requirements for the professors all have at least an MSN but they prefer doctorate level faculty. I spoke with 11 current students of which 10 gave me positive feed back. I love SNHU the professors were great and very involved in the course. The work is challenging but requires self motivation. They offer internships with large companies. I had no problems with admissions the counselors were great at telling me what to expect, my advisor was in contact with me every semester. I overall had a great experience at Southern New Hampshire University. First and foremost, I am not a spring chicken anymore. I was probably one of the few older people in every course. Read More The admissions department is friendly and patient. The continuing education offered by SNHU is truly fantastic. I never felt pressured to rush or cram for exams or papers as the way I did during my undergrad years at a traditional university setting. Everyone is entitled to their personal opinion. Personally speaking, SNHU provided the education at a fair price. I had good instructors (except for one) and the course work load was definitely challenging. When I received my MS in Finance, I was given a raise! I recommend SNHU. Don鈥檛 judge till you try it. Good luck!

SNHU has been an absolute blessing in my life. I've completed a B.S. from the university, and I'm currently finishing my M.S. The university has grown and developed its online program significantly over the last 6 years. I've stayed with SNHU term after term because the university is both challenging and supportive. Read More go somewhere else. We honestly don't want you here nor will you succeed. If you're ready to get educated, put in some time and truly develop yourself in every area of life, choose SNHU. This school isn't about getting you a better job; it's about getting you a better life!About 90% of my courses have been either good or great. The bad instructors are generally weeded out by the university is short order. Students who report inferior classes may not get a new professor immediately, but it's likely that the lackluster teachers will get pushed out soon after the term ends. With new efforts by SNHU to connect the university together and encourage peer interaction both online and offline, I think academics will only improve in the future. President LeBlanc, SNHU's awesome leader, is an educational leader who loves breaking down barriers for students. Advisors support this mission by keeping students on track and focused on completing degrees.

You'll never be scammed by SNHU, and the school will always stand behind you. Not surprisingly, the university enrolls a lot of students who leave the for-profits. The transfers typically notice an immediate difference in quality. You won't regret studying through SNHU if you're ready to earn a reputable degree. So, why are you waiting?
