I earned two (2) graduate degrees from Strayer; an MBA in 2012 and a MS in 2014. The 2012 degree was mostly on campus while the 2014 degree was all online. With the 2012 degree I was employed within two months of graduating with a position directly related to the degree. While I enjoyed the campus experience more than the online one, they were both very rewarding. I went to Strayer University hoping to get a MBA in business in Downers Grove Illinois. A couple of my professors were pretty cool. The Law Professor was really good. One fellow answered most of the questions, there was like 5 students in the class. One clas we had was almost like grade school, the professor did not prepare for the class, and went around the room calling on every student to answer the question. The Librarian wasnt too nice, if u asked too many questions isnt was like you were bothering... Read More her space. Not too friendly place, okay. I wasted close 49,000 dollars which I am not doing anything with that knowledge whatsoever. Yes it would be nice to have my 40,000 back and spend it on something worth while.

I am an online MBA student and feel that the technology has been very helpful and easy to follow. The books, lectures etc. are relevant and there should be no reason an individual cannot attain a 3.0 or better. I say this having transferred from another online school where the technology and instruction were essentially self-study courses and antiquated systems. Strayer University offers new students, military-related eduction seekers, and those returning to education alike an excellent opportunity to break into a new field or improve upon previous knowledge. Not only does the school provide excellent material, but assignment academic advisors are very invested in every individual student's success. Be warned that the finance office can be difficult to get in touch with for the first couple weeks of each term (they're generally especially busy during these... If you're looking to take your knowledgeability and hire-ability to the next level, Stray likely has what you need in an enjoyable, enlightening format.

In my opinion attendance of an online university or an institution that predominantly has appearance online has its drawbacks. Aside from the lack of physical instructor interaction, inter-active peer groups, and overall quality institutional support, the degree has little equity in direct competition with traditional institutions. Read More to attend a reputable brick and motor school that is ranked and has a competitive program and notoriety regarding your particular industry. Now to address Strayer University, unless one is in a career track aspiring upward mobility reference the sought degree in my opinion, after completing an MBA with the institution, their is little equity reference career transition and inception. I am content that I was able to complete an MBA while serving in the military, however, had I know about other top 100 schools online presence, I would have chosen differently. For profit institutions are just that for profit, and certainly after my conversations with the academic community in which I am attempting to transition, the rigor of the degree is not respected.

Strayer for me, has been a great convenience as far as being able to work full time, take care of 3 kids and still be able to juggle my class assignments. The fact that it's all online and I have a week to submit an assignment without any mandatory submissions mid-week has really helped. The teachers I've had so far responded to my emails promptly and they actually knew what they were teaching.
