Degree: Educational Leadership

I finished my Masters of Science in Management in 2008 from the Dept. of Business and Technology there. In 2010 I enrolled for the Doctorate (EdD in Higher Education, Supervision, Curriculum and Instruction) while still employed full-time. This program is good for adult students who need flexibility. I attended about 1/2 of my classes by leaving work at 2:00 PM on a weekday and getting to Commerce in time for a 5:00 class. The rest of the classes were online. My professors have been very supportive.... Read More

Degree: Educational Leadership

I am currently enrolled in the Higher Education Leader Doctoral Program at TAMUC. Overall, the program is good. I am struggling with a course this semester, but it is to no fault of the instructor or the institution. I simply should have taken it face to face instead of online. I am 21 credits into my program and feel confident that I will receive the assistance I need as long as I continue to seek the resources (advising, etc). The cons of taking the difficult classes online is not having someone... Read More

Degree: Educational Leadership

I have really enjoyed the Doctoral Program at Texas A & M Commerce. The program is online and is very accessible and easy to manage for the working student. Every class has one to two week sessions and in each class we interact with other students online in a discussion format. I am in my first year of the program and am really enjoying it!!

Degree: Educational Leadership

I am in an online program working on my doctorate in education. The faculty is very supportive, and available for help. The courses are challenging and well worth the costs. I never liked online courses in the past, but the experience I have had with Texas A&M Commerce has changed my mind. I often recommend the program to my co-workers.

Degree: Educational Leadership

I absolutely love this program and all the knowledge I am gaining. The only con I have is the overall cost of the program but honestly any PHD program is expensive. The professors are fantastic and the rigor is tough but so engaging that you really are having fun while working hard. I would recommend the TAMCU to anyone who wants a quality education!

Degree: Educational Leadership

The program was clearly advertised by the outside recruiting agency as a 30 month program that would cost appx $30,000. I finished my EdD very much earlier than anyone in my cohort and it took me 36 months and over $50,000. So I think that was a bit misleading. I enjoyed the program and always got whatever support I needed to complete the necessary tasks. But the professors let me struggle just enough to get the desired learning out of the material. I have grown so much throughout the program and... Read More

Degree: Educational Leadership

I enjoyed taking classes on campus during my Master’s programs. The doctoral program is online and the coursework was challenging. However, I would like more support in the dissertation process.

Degree: Educational Leadership

I'm in the doctoral program for educational leadership. I enjoy the online classes and the flexibility. The group projects is a con of the online classes because it is difficult to do them when you do not know the people that you are working with. It would be helpful to choose our own groups.
