I was really happy when I was in my Masters program at Umass (Masters in Education). It was a great experience. However, when I went back to school to take course through the extended learning department it became a complete nightmare. I honestly can not remember every terrible little thing that happened but some of the highlights include Umass writing me that my course was graded and then not putting in on my transcript. Another terrible highlight is when I paid additional money for units and they... Read More never gave them to me, but wrote me an email that they had given me the credit. The best part is when they gave me $7 dollars back on credit as a gesture of letting me know they have "refunded" me for my troubles. Honestly, it was kind of insulting (like they threw a penny back at me after I had suffered financial lost and paid them so much). As a result, of all of these errors on their part I missed my pay raise at my district now twice. And to top it off, when I called my district today, they noted that they "never received any transcripts." So much for the $7 dollar refund. Looks like they just cancelled my order and chose not to send anything. At this point I have lost so much money from missing all my raises due to their lack of professionalism and competency. This university robs people and does not deliver the products that people pay a lot of money for. They can not fix a problem even by the third or fourth time of trying to correct it. If you attend this university and have a problem, expect a lot of trouble trying to fix it. So far no refund. You'd think they'd have given me one by the third or fourth time I tried to fix it and they still couldn't deliver me the products I paid for. I'll let you know if they give me one. I will update this post to let you know what happens next or if they ever do fix this. So far the time span of trying to have this fixed has been about 5-6 months total. Hopefully by the end of the year it is fixed, if not, I'm calling a lawyer.

This place is terrible. DO NOT DO IT. It is shocking to me that reputable for profit colleges have had to close in California, but places like this get to continue because they are under the label of "non profit". This place is a racket. It is extremely expensive and you get very little in terms of service for how much you have to pay. The financial aid department is terrible, as are the academic advisors. They do not respond to inquiries in a timely manner, do not have relevant information and when... Read More they do finally get to you, you've missed valuable information and deadlines. This school seems the only real option for some programs but do yourself a favor and do more research. There are other schools out there that don't cost an arm and a leg and you will get similar level of service. BTW, the teachers are actually ok. It is the administration that is horrible.
