The University of Central Florida has prepared me for my future career with an in-depth curriculum and classwork that is related not only to problems that will one will have to be faced with in the workplace but to current life events. For example, in my Policy Process course, my professor gave a very detailed prompt stating that we should provide policy alternatives to suppress the impact of texting and driving. The essay was very detailed in discussing the issue, the alternatives, the policies... Read More

UCF is one of the largest student-enrolled colleges in America. As a fully online student it was super easy to speak with staff electronically and telephonically for my needs. The cost per credit hour for a Master's degree is really low compared to private universities and the school offers scholarship and fellowship opportunities.

When I got accepted to University of Central Florida I was TERRIFIED. I always wondered how will a Jamaican woman survive in a predominately white institution. UCF has culture, diversity, and safety; the university welcomed me as a first generation college student. I never felt out of place or confused. If I had a question UCF had an answer.

There are a significant amount of resources for any and every major or field of study, however, some of the professors and administrators are not very personable and hard to get a hold of to have questions answered.

The criminal justice master's program (online) offers flexibility with the courses to be able to attend part time while working full time. Study what you need for the program and the classes needed for the CJ program are usually open. If you decide to take electives from the Public Administration program, research what classes are open to other majors.

The research track is unique at UCF I love that I get specific training on research, experiments, and crime analysis and mapping. The classes fill up really quickly though so it can be tough to get in the ones you want.

Comparing my grad experience with another university, UCF was by far the best quality education. Professors took interests in student academic excellence.

I am actually in the MSCJ program, but that wasn't an option. The program is great, teachers are helpful, and I think I made the right choice.

The pros of the graduate program: Te professors are willing to answers questions, meet with you, discuss career options, and program options. The coursework is just enough at the graduate program to be challenging yet not overwhelming. The only cons of the graduate program is that courses fill up quickly and not of all the courses are available online.

The pros of my grad school are the small class sizes. Some cons come with the instruction provided in a few online programs.
