I enjoyed completing my Master of Science in Nursing degree with UoPX and would definitely recommend the program especially to those who want to continue working full time while completing their degree full time! I found the vast majority of my professors to be very responsive and helpful when I had questions about the content and assignments. The only constructive piece I have is that some of the assignment instructions were vague and seemed to have low validity.

I wish I could write a great review. I completed my BSN at the University of Phoenix and continued for my MSN in education. I have 2 practicums to go and come to find out I am in a restricted state. Cannot find a facility that will let me complete these last two courses for my degree. If the university knew I was in a restricted state, they knew when I got to these last 2 classes that I would not be able to complete the program. They should have told me from the beginning so I could have went somewhere... Read More else. Now I am consulting an attorney to see if there is anything I can do, legally. Transferring to another university, I will lose credits and have to retake classes I already took which I will have to pay for again.

I am a disabled nurse who's attempting my master's degree to be able to show my children that they can push through life's adversities. I want to change and improve patient's lives by volunteering my experience to advocate for them. Unfortunately, in this program, you have to teach yourself. The assignments are graded late; if you didn't understand the assignment, you will be deducted for submitting another attempt. You take away what you brought into the program. At fifty years of age I decided I could no longer compete in acute hospital nursing. I came with a BSN, 30 year backgrounds in critical-emergency care, as well as medical-surgical, and telemetry nursing. My wife of 20 years was supportive of my ASD behaviors and desire to step back from night shift bedside nursing which interferes with our personal lives. I feel that I could have never qualified for the standard bricks-and-mortar educational structure... Read More of a University. The hybrid Phoenix model best served my educational needs while allowing my to work full time. My ASD weaknesses were also my strengths: I LOVE to read and possessed a a nearly eidetic memory for facts, especially history. The UofP 'learning team' model was very difficult but I was fortunate to finally find a handful of equally devoted classmates. I learned to perform EB research, create power-points, and composed a >3500 word thesis that was well praised. I borrowed @$25,000 for the 3 1/2 year program and just finished paying off the last of my student loan this year. Our class were told that the UofP program would "prepare us to work in a 'Minute-Clinic', pass our national APRN boards, but that our first year as credentialled Nurse Practitioners would give us the most challenges. All three predictions were correct. I was fortunate to find a job as a 'new grad' NP and went through severe on-the-job stress. The hardest part as an ASD nurse was to "put on the NT mask" for job interviews: I've dreaded these challenges throughout my life when I'm expected to 'act like normal people'. Once on the job I was able to relax. I am one of the '12.5% who graduated from the University of Phoenix. I owe my success partly to its academic ,model, but not ALL. This may not be the 'best fit' for every student.

I received the masters degree in nursing at University of Phoenix. It was such a great learning experience. Everything they taught me, I was able to apply in real life. Like any school, if you put in the work- you will receive the knowledge. I am not sure why people are putting this college down. I work for a company that is a national giant and University of Phoenix is one of the few online colleges that my Company recognizes and provides reimbursement towards classes. The university helps connect the students with a mentor and provides all kinds of online tools and an impressive library which continue to be available to the alumni even after graduation. The degree paid back in spades. If I had to choose, I would select University of Phoenix all over again!

I will begin by saying that enrollment was seamless. Financial advisement was always available and my counselor was attainable at all times (in the beginning). I found classes to be simple - not sure if it is because I never found school to be difficult or just because the courses were easy. Either way, they don't require too much brain power. I was forced, by personal reasons to take a break between my final Practicum I and Practicum II. I went into Practicum II with a 4.0. I lost points on a paper... Read More for not having feedback from my professor from Practicum I - well the class was 3 months earlier and i did not have that feedback. My final paper was graded and I ended the class with 0.3 points less than a A. I was given an Aminus which dropped by GPA down below a 4.0. I asked....no wait, I begged the school to reconsider and they basically told me that there is no different between my grade and 4.0 and not not worry about it. My instructor told me that she could no re grade my work - which is a lie. I am so upset with this University. Yes, I sound like a baby... No, I dont care. I worked hard for that 4.0. I am currently enrolled in the Master of Science in Nursing program with a concentration in Nursing Education. The program is an online program through University of Phoenix. I believe that I deserve the scholarship because I am a hard worker and an excellent student. I have a 20 month-old son and am currently engaged. I have worked in many areas of nursing including Medical-Surgical, Telemetry, home health, occupational health, and currently community health as a diabetes educator. I enjoy what I do by helping educate those patients with diabetes. The populations that we serve at our center are migrant workers, low income, those without insurance, as well as those with insurance. Giving those patients the opportunity to be armed with the knowledge they need to properly manage their diabetes is very rewarding. I have enjoyed all of my time here at University of Phoenix. This program allows me to not only further my nursing career, but also have a family. Having a family and working a full-time job can make it very difficult to also continue education. Having access to this online campus allows this dream to come true. I have enjoyed every experience with each department and each instructor/facilitator. I would 100% recommend University of Phoenix online to anyone.

This school challenges you with robust assignments that encourage you to learn about course content. I am not a test taker and UoP does not do online tests (for my degree anyway). Instead, your knowledge is tested through the assignments and online discussions with your classmates. Online discussions are spurred by commenting on required reading material and then tying that content to real life experiences. In addition, the learning teams are teams that are put together by the professor and you work... Read More with your team to complete an assignment. The frequency of team activities varies with different courses. The learning team also allows students to learn how to collaborate with one another to get projects done. In the real world you have to collaborate with others, especially with big projects. I am pleased with the UoP and and I am happy with my choice to go to this university to obtain my degree.

The University of Phoenix is great for students looking to pursue their education but are not able to quit their day job. They do an excellent job at working with students to find the type of program that will work best for you. They have on-campus classes or on-line classes available. Academic advisors and financial advisors are all great, accommodating, informative, and supportive. Faculty are available to assist you with questions or concerns throughout classes. I should have heeded the warnings of others who have studied at this "university". Every single step in the process of application, study, and follow up has been a complete and utter nightmare. You will have people calling you daily, and if you even mention that you aren't interested, they will quickly turn on you and be rude and disparaging. Read More taught my class (who constantly denigrated his students) has had his teaching certification PERMANENTLY revoked in the state of Florida for the following: writing checks out to cash for the charter school he started, continuing to employ a felon after he was made aware that the person was a felon...the list goes on. You will not have an easy or enjoyable time "studying" through this fake university. There was a single course I needed for grad school, which I was able to complete in 6 weeks instead of a full semester, but having been through it, this fake university couldn't pay ME to take another course here. Please save yourself the 6 weeks of torture, and go somewhere else.

The University of Phoenix is a quality school that provides students the opportunity to pursue their education while still having the ability to work full time. They have a system in place that incorporates a rigorous and competitive curriculum similar to other schools, but organizes it in a way as to not overload the student to where they feel like they cannot work and complete school at the same time. I was supposed to graduate in 2016 with my MSN, all I had left to graduate was my final practicum write up and an ethics class....when I moved to WA state, UOP told me that my degree was null and void (over 35000 later) since they do not have an agreement with the board of nursing to complete and offer an MSN; I cannot explain the anger, frustration and disgust I felt with this university who has promised me from the day I started my graduate degree that I can study and complete any degree anywhere,...
