The start of the program was excellent, focusing on how justice and security work together. There were also some good classes on the thought process of administration in law enforcement and security. It then turned into every class just focusing on civil rights issues and the police force. Some of which is understandable, but it was mixed into classes that had nothing to do with it. The discussion board, while in theory is great due to letting you have thought-provoking discussions, was nothing more... Read More

My experience at the University of Phoenix has been nothing short of exceptional. From the moment I enrolled, I have been met with kindness, professionalism, and a genuine desire to help students succeed. Every individual I’ve interacted with—whether faculty, advisors, or support staff—has been incredibly helpful, approachable, and encouraging. Their dedication to student success is evident in the way they provide guidance, answer questions, and ensure that I feel confident in my academic journey.... Read More

Prior Army enlisted/current law enforcement professional. Instruction? There was little or no instruction at all. I never spoke with one so-called "professor" and their actual posts were rare. It was a scam from the beginning and I was so hopeful concerning the potential positive impact on my career that I wanted so badly for it to be real. I had already realized the "Masters" program was not of any substance or real educational value prior to my son reading the assignments and work of others over... Read More

I met some great people within the program and am still friends with my group today even though we are not in the same geographic area. My issue stems from the advising, the professors, and dispute management. Advising - they lied to me to get me to enroll. My adviser told me that I could absolutely do what I wanted to do with the degree I was enrolling for. Unfortunately, the position I was hoping to achieve doesn't exist. Didn't find that out until class 10 out of 12. The adviser who told me this... Read More

I enjoyed attending UOP online because it is convenient. I have 2 young children and work full time so at night I do my school work. University of Phoenix has made it possible to get my Master's degree without leaving my family. The current program I am in gives great detail of the special education system and how to be prepared for the job.

I attended Phoenix University for my Bachelor of Science in Psychology and I am now attending for a Master of Science in Administration of Justice and Security. I have loved it from the beginning. I have gained so much knowledge from both programs and I have met really great people along the way. I am looking forward to graduating and furthering my career.

The ease of admissions and enrollment made my decision easy. I initially enjoyed the school and courses until there was an issue with a professor. I quickly learned that there is not a Dean of Students or Department Chair to oversee the professors. I pay too much money to attend classes while being treated like a third grader. I also prefer hard copy textbooks. The cost of books is included in the tuition. I prefer to keep my books for future reference. Current textbooks are only accessible online,... Read More

I was very disappointed with the level of education I received here. The School forces the students to purchase books online as it included in your tuition each quarter. Yet, I only used one textbook for the entire degree and that was the crime scene investigation course. Everything taught you can learn on the Investigation Discovery Channel, which was a huge let down. This school also markets counseling and psychology students but it is not CACREP or ACA/APA accredited.

I am currently a full time student at the University of Phoenix. I started going to UOP in 2010, after I received my Associates degree in Criminal Justice I went on to get my Bachelors in Organizational Security. Due to health problems, I had to take a break from UOP but was able to start back this year. After I graduated, I decided I wanted to continue school and get my Masters. I love UOP, I have had awesome instructors, very caring counselors and the best advisers I have ever seen. I never felt... Read More

Course are appropriate for course of study, but there are two significant detractors to the program. #1 is the insistence of using group work for online coursework without any consideration of where the members of the group live (US/Overseas/Timezone) plus the natural curve of those who participate vs. do not. You have a group grade/project that is predicated on people you never see, may not be anywhere near you and you have no influence over. #2 is their insistence on using protected .pdf's for... I am currently attending school to receive my Masters in Administration of Justice and Security with a focus on Global and Homeland Security. This program has been challenging but rewarding. Unlike when I attended school and got my undergraduate degree, I am challenged everyday to think outside the box. The lessons learned day in and day out have been tested in the working world as well. I am able to apply my thoughts and what I have learned to my job. I am very passionate about the Nation's security... Read More

The am currently two classes away from receiving my graduate degree in Criminal Justice. I chose the University of Phoenix-online because I believe they offered me the most challenging classroom atmosphere while performing my work online. The teachers are extremely knowledgable in their respective fields of study.
