As someone who is currently completing the Master's in Curriculum and Instruction program at the University of Phoenix, I can confidently say that it was a transformative experience, blending academic rigor with real-world applicability. Here’s a breakdown of my overall experience:
Academic Quality: The curriculum is comprehensive, covering everything from educational theory to practical strategies for curriculum development. The courses were well-organized, and I appreciated the blend of both research-based... Read More
Flexibility: One of the standout features of this program was its flexibility. As a working professional, being able to take classes online allowed me to balance my academic goals with my work and personal life. The 5-week course format kept things moving at a steady pace, though at times, it felt like a challenge to juggle assignments with professional responsibilities. That being said, the online platform was user-friendly, and I never felt disconnected from my instructors or peers. The online format fostered a collaborative community, where discussions and group projects were engaging.
Practical Skills: What sets this program apart is its focus on preparing educators to make a tangible impact in diverse classroom settings. The courses cover a wide range of subjects, such as instructional strategies, assessment techniques, and the integration of technology into teaching. The curriculum emphasizes adaptability, cultural competence, and inclusive education, all of which are essential in today’s classrooms.
Support Services: The University of Phoenix provides ample support through academic advising, tutoring, and career services. I found the advising team to be helpful in guiding me through the program and ensuring that I was on track to meet my goals. There were also numerous opportunities for networking and connecting with alumni, which I found valuable as I progressed through the program.
Cost and Financial Aid: While the tuition is on the higher side compared to some public universities, the flexibility and online format made it a worthwhile investment for me. Financial aid options, including scholarships and loan options, are available and well-explained, which made navigating the costs a bit easier.
Final Thoughts: Overall, the Master’s in Curriculum and Instruction at the University of Phoenix provided a solid foundation for anyone looking to advance their career in education. Whether you’re aiming to become an instructional leader, curriculum designer, or a specialist in educational technologies, this program gives you the skills and knowledge to thrive in various educational environments. I walked away from this program with a deeper understanding of how to create meaningful learning experiences, and I feel better equipped to make a difference in the field of education.

I am about halfway through my Master's Program at UOP. I absolutely LOVE it. I tried out two different grad schools before UOP and I cannot express how much better things are now. I am impressed with how professional every single person who I've spoken to and dealt with is. Professors are great, program is great, and the online forum is the best I've seen. I'm so glad I found UOP. 10/10 would definitely recommend!

I would recommend University of Phoenix to those students who want to get ahead, be prepared and succeed in their career. This program definitely allowed me to grow as a professional and to broaden my perspective. Although the program was online, the community was built upon each other's views and experience. The professors were there to answer any questions and provided you with support. Thanks to University of Phoenix I am fully prepared to strive as a classroom teacher in the public school.

The work was rigorous, and one gets out of the program what they put into the program. Two months after I graduated, I was hired as an adjunct at a local college. Two years later, I became a tenured instructor at the same college. I make 80k a year, and next year I am receiving my promotion to assistant professor and 10k raise. Hard work and determination mean everything. If a person wants something bad enough, they will receive it. At the moment, I am going to UoP for my doctorate.

The University of Phoenix has really changed how people can get back into school to complete a degree program. I was sick most of last year, getting chemo and radiation, but still managed to stay up with my classes and currently have a 3.77 GPA. The professors are all highly skilled and most helpful. I am thrilled to have been a part of UOP!

I completed a MAEd degree while teaching full time. It wasn't easy, but it was by far a better program than I experinced while earning my bachelors degree at a state university. The instructors were overall responsive to student needs as they facilitated our learning. It was a great experience getting to know the other students in the group that I went through the program with. The degree enabled me to earn a substantial bigger salary, and I feel it made me a better teacher.

The program provides significant opportunity to individualize the material to meet the specific needs of the students and their career objectives. One of the down sides to the program is the lack of consistent communication with advisement. All contact is centered around the fiscal requirements. Interest is the student seems limited to their ability to pay.

The thing about online class is that you are allowed to have a social life but still maintain the focus to do your work by the deadlines.

The flexibility and accessibility of the classes, especially for those people like myself that are in the workforce. Another pro, is that the rigor and challenge of the course work is equivalent to and in some courses greater than what I experienced while I was an undergrad. The instructors, academic advisors, and financial advisors are very helpful and attentive to the students individual needs and issues.

I'm currently in the University of Phoenix Online Doctoral program for Doctor of Education in Curriculum Instruction/Education Leadership. I believe the University of Phoenix Online Doctoral Program is an excellent option for individuals who work full-time or have a lot of commitments but still want to pursue a doctorate degree and do research. At first I thought I wasn't the type of individual who could do online courses, but the University of Phoenix online learning management system has been easy... Read More

I really enjoyed the content of the degree program. It helped me understand pertinent information that I will need to know in this career. Working with instructors who have done or are doing what I want as a career helps in getting the most up to date information. The only con I have is the interaction with some instructors. Some instructors were amazing, and very helpful. I did have a few instructors who didnt reply to messages and were not helpful with my development.

The program has allowed me to achieve my personal and professional goals. The two cons of this program is that it is very costly which most graduate programs in America are and the accessibility to some of the instructors as they are not full time staff of the University.

Overall I felt as though my graduate program was effective and well organized. It allowed me to continue teaching, and coaching while also obtaining my graduate degree. The only con would be that the classes were slightly expensive. As a teacher and cash paying student the class were fairly expensive.

The graduate program provides me the opportunity to continue my education online. I can work and still be at home with my children as needed. I like the flexibility of the program and professors are very supportive and knowledgeable. One disadvantage is lack of face to face contact, but over all the learning environment is awesome.
