Degree: Secondary Education

I accomplished so much in so little time at University of Phoenix. In 2 years I completed the remaining 96 units of my bachelors degree and my entire master’s degree. I couldn’t be more happy with the caring and supportive atmosphere the staff provides. I am looking forward to applying my education to my career and moving onward and upward from there!

Overall the experience has been good. I don't agree with all of the steps, especially at the Master's level, but it is what it is. Still not even sure I want to be an educator in public education anymore, but it will be nice to finish this degree and hopefully have more doors open for me.

I enjoyed every aspect of my program. Everyone I came in contact with helped me advance in my career. They never gave up on me and constantly helped me become better. I am very appreciative of those people. Without the help of those people I wouldn't have made it as far as I have.

I did a fully online Master's program (besides student teaching in person) and it was probably the easiest and most affordable way for me to complete this degree. What worked for me might not work for others, though. This is not a program that will hold your hand through the journey and you won't have the personal touch of a professor who knows you and cares about your well-being. You will get emails and posts about what you need to get done, and then they will leave you alone to get it done. This... Read More

I feel this program has prepared me adequately for obtaining my certification. From the academic advisors to the instruction in my classes, everything and everyone has been prepared and organized to help me succeed. They have always answered my questions in a timely and professional manner. The amount of work required in each class wasn't overwhelming, but did keep me on my toes. Some of it felt like busy work, but most of it had good educational value to it. I would prefer to traditional brick and... Read More

University of Phoenix provides me with all the materials needed to become a very well prepared educator. I am proud to be a student and I would not trade my college for any other. I love the fact that I can call and speak to my advisors and counselors. They are always willing to help and encourage me when I need it. Having support is EVERYTHING! I only wish I could meet them in person just to give them a big hug for all they do!!

I absolutely love the layout of the courses University of Phoenix has provided to me. As a mother, who is also working full time, a school that provided online classes with the flexibility to work within my schedule is wonderful. I needed a Master's degree to obtain the career I wanted in the Educational field, and thanks to the University of Phoenix that is possible.

The online graduate program for Secondary Education is challenging. I feel the instructors do their best to give feedback quickly and help the students in anyway they can. The online platform the University uses is easy to navigate and to keep track of what is done and what is still due. The only con is the lack of interaction with other students. This is overcome by using learning teams to encourage group interaction for assignments.

I believe this is a great program because it prepares you to become the best teacher that you can be. Once you have received you undergraduate degree you have become an expert in that area, but this Graduate program gives you the skills to teach and to be successful! Our children are the future and having a positive influence on their education is the most important thing we can offer in our lifetime.

When deciding to further my education I was apprehensive at first but working with the staff at the University of Phoenix eased all of my anxieties. The educational experience that I have received from the staff at the University of Phoenix has helped me prepare for becoming a confident educator. The only down fall of working on an online graduate program is the lack of physical support. Although I am beginning my teaching practicum, it has been difficult to make sure that I am accomplishing the... Read More

The online graduate program at University of Phoenix is so convenient because it is completely online. This allows me to easily attend classes without making drastic changes to my everyday routine. The faculty and staff at University of Phoenix are very helpful and knowledgeable in their given field. The downside about attending school online is that most contact is via email or phone, which can take some time to get a response. However, the ease of attending classes online and the helpfulness of... Read More

I attended the University of Phoenix for my Master's Degree in Secondary Education. I earned my bachelor from a traditional university. At the time, I was traveling quite a bit for work and working multiple jobs, so the online option was the best path for me to earn my master's degree in a timely manner. I found the coursework to be challenging with regularly having to post to the discussion forums, doing papers, group projects, research and supplemental reading. I also had to do my classroom observation... Read More
