Degree: Public Administration

I didn’t consider UOPX as a graduate school until I applied for a scholarship. I previously attended another popular online university designed for the working professional.

I got the scholarship and had to decide if I was going to commit to UOPX, obviously I did, and I am happy about that decision.

UOPX graduate school was academically challenging but the format made it easier navigate. The 6 week courses were very focused and formatted in a way that allowed me to digest a lot of information in a... Read More

Overall, if UOPX had a doctorate program I was interested in, I’d consider it.

I need to choose a new grad program and I wanted to continue working in public sector. I decided to give U of Phoenix a try, and I am so happy that I did. I believe that this program was a great fit and that it allowed me to pace myself throughout the six week of each course. I believe that these six weeks are enough time to fully grasp the courses and to understand the objectives. The professors really want you to succeed and always provide well in-depth feedback on how to make progress. I have... Read More

Over the last few years, University of Phoenix has helped me in numerous ways, not only academically but also personally. The specialists were all helpful in ensuring things were all set and ready to start class each quarter as well check in to see how things are going. The professors have been amazing. Public Administration program is very informational and helpful if you work in government or work with government agencies. It gives you a great inside view what we are doing and why we doing it in the government. Public administration is the implementation of government policy and also an academic discipline that studies this implementation and prepares civil servants for working in the public service. It is centrally concerned with the organization of government policies and programs as well as... Read More

The University of Phoenix online Masters of Public Administration is a well rounded program. I have been able to combine what I am learning in the online class environment and apply it to an internship I am doing with a local government. Having the online capability to network with professionals that are currently in other public sector agencies has been a wonderful way to learn about other communities and the way other cities work. I highly recommend the online program for future or prospective... Read More

I am an alumni of University of Phoenix (UOP) that has recently returned to pursue my Masters of Public Administration. I choose UOP for my graduate degree because I thoroughly enjoyed my previous learning experience I had there working towards my BSB/M. Pros: I have been utilizing the classes and course materials to my current work place. I have learned more about public administration and the government than previously. My employer told me, as soon as I graduate, that we can discuss the next steps in my professional career. Cons: Level of students vary in consistency and accuracy of team/academic work, even in a grad school setting. The level of professional did get better with each sequential class.

University of Phoenix's Masters in Public Administration (MPA) program is excellent. The coursework was paced appropriately and the content is indepth. The diverse faculty and their professional insights enhance the course. It is important to note that there is a tremendous amount of reading required. However, this is typical of any quality graduate program. Although many students find the cohort format daunting, the University of Phoenix has designed a system that allows students to benefit from... Read More

I love the program, the workload is quite challenging but I would expect anything less from a graduate program. There is access to academic resources even though classes are online. The counselors, advisors, and professors are also accessible to answer questions and address concerns.

The online program was very difficult. It required a great deal of time outside of work to complete. The diversity was fair, we had some international students in our courses. The team process in the courses were difficult as the time zone factor was not always beneficial. I had good support from the school and my instructors.

The pros of my graduate program provided very detailed requirements and demanding assignments. It is through this that I was able to develop hard work ethic and time management skills. The cons of the program was their new learning system. The online classes sometimes crashed while doing assignments since this was their first year changing the learning system.

This school offered me a great opportunity. To work full time and go to school full time. The coursework for Masters students of course is higher and it was flexible with my schedule. The way the school test you is a little funky. I felt like I would study one thing and be tested on another. But luckily, the final exam does not determine your overall grade. I would recommend this school to others in my situation. Definitely a good experience, but a different one than I had pictured.
