Johns Hopkins University is a popular online school that hosts remote students from around the U.S. and internationally. The National Center for Education Statistics () reports that more than half of its graduate students are enrolled only in distance education courses.

For example. its 93% graduation rate is 35% higher than the midpoint for other four-year universities. Also, the school's average annual cost for students who receive financial aid is $4,600 less expensive and its graduates' median earnings are $39,200 higher than its competitors.
