UofL offers online certificates and degrees at the undergraduate and graduate levels. Majors span disciplines and industries, including , , , and  â€” along with many others. Online courses are offered in a five-to-eight-week accelerated format so students can finish quickly. The curriculum is delivered via the Blackboard learning management system so distance learners can participate in class remotely. 

Employers respect UofL's online degrees because they come from an accredited university, along with all schools featured on OnlineU.UofL is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges () to award associate, baccalaureate, master's and doctorate degrees, and certificates. Earning this accreditation means that UofL periodically submits to a thorough review by the SACSCOC, which deems its business practices sound and ensures that its academic programs meet national standards of quality. 

Importantly, a degree from UofL doesn't say if it was earned online or not, so you don't have to disclose that information if you don't want to.

UofL is known for students with records of high academic achievement, and it's an R1 research university. It's one of the nation's top producers of Fulbright Scholars participating in the , which enables university faculty members with doctoral degrees to teach and conduct research. UofL students also have ACT scores significantly higher than state and national averages. For example, Kentucky's average composite ACT score was , while UofL students' scores averaged between .

UofL is also known for being a . It waives application fees for current and former service members and gives active members priority registration. If a student is deployed, they can return to their program without penalty once their tour of duty is complete.

Based on  data, UofL's bachelor's degrees in computer engineering, chemical engineering, and mechanical engineering provide the highest earnings for graduates. Those completing these STEM degrees earn median annual salaries of approximately $85,800, $80,800, and $77,200, respectively. However, while these undergraduate programs are available on campus only, UofL offers several online master's degrees in STEM fields such as , , and .

OnlineU's proprietary Salary Score ranks colleges by how much their alumni earn compared to graduates with the same degree nationwide. UofL has a bachelor's degree salary score of 51 out of 100, 35 for its master's degrees, and 42 for its doctoral degrees.

According to federal data from College Scorecard, UofL accepts 65% of its applicants and generally looks for college-ready students with strong grades and the completion of college-preparatory coursework in high school. This acceptance rate is about the U.S. average among colleges, so it's neither difficult nor easy to get in. 

While it does not require entrance exams, high SAT/ACT scores will be considered for automatic admission into many of UofL's programs.
