My story: This is the second program I'm enrolled in. Received a BA in different field & didn't learn much. But I needed to continue school from a brick & mortar. Only way to do that was online. After finally graduating, I decided to go back & pursue a better degree while taking it more seriously. I was able to complete all the courses I needed with a 4.0 GPA. Never been so proud. Although I am aware of the not so great education as you would receive from a brick & mortar or nonprofit, I still am planning on continue due to versatility. Hopefully this new program will be different & challenging. It suits me based from my experience, living situation, & goals. Evaluate your options. Pros: - I was able to complete the required courses with a 4.0 GPA - Boosted my overall grades & performance - Easy enrollment, you're in control of your grades, 8 week courses (no waiting for fall or spring terms like most brick & mortar). Who has time for that? Cons: - Didn't have any hands-on training or learning except from some lab homeworks & certain courses - Class is mostly on autopilot - Professors don't really help much & no great at responding to emails or messages - Discussion forums are a waste of time - Class is soley based on literature learning mostly from learning - No live interaction (like other online schools) or even recorded videos

Great school. I have a learning disability so my doctor recommended WGU he's a Harvard alumnus. You get more than 1 try of every test which I loved. Professors are generally speaking excellent if you have problems with one try another you have access to more than one. I'm coming back here to get my masters in Accounting I enjoyed it so much. Read More well WGU is for people who need a degree to increase earning potential. I started out picking up garbage while I went through college and would be doing that for the rest of my life without a degree. Try to make partner or become a CFO. Very lucrative. Take screenshots of the pre assessment and study the book for answers. The assessment is generally similar to the pre assessment. I went to URI and couldn't graduate the graduation rate was too low. I also flunked out, be thankful you can get or have a degree some of my coworkers are illiterate. I'm looking to buy a condo and lease a Maserati soon. That'll make house # 4. That wouldn't be possible without my WGU degree

Please learn from my mistake and my wasted time, money, and energy. At first the school seemed promising especially since the office was located close to my home. I already had my Associates and just wanted to finish my Bachelors degree with a possibility of obtaining my Masters. I attended Strayer for 2.5 years and during that time many counselors, admin and dean's changed positions, moved or went elsewhere causing the ability to contact someone almost impossible. At first the systems being used... Read More were okay than last Spring they "Updated and Upgraded" causing a lot of problem and also losing some studying and practicing assistance. When asked they would look into it but ultimately they put the blame on the system company. Due to this loss I needed some tutoring and per agreements I was allowed free tutoring. When I asked about it they didn't have tutoring for the classes I was taking and to contact elsewhere. Next when I asked the controller at my work (studying accounting) she could not understand the questions or on other questions why they were giving problems unrelated to the field and not used in the field of study. Finally after withdrawing my course in the fall due to not able to keep up without the assistance needed it took a year for them to suddenly charge me for withdrawing the courses without any explanation. When I withdrew I asked multiple questions and asked what to expect so I wasn't surprised later and even asked if I would owe Strayer, I was told no due to I withdrew after midterms. Please if you want to further your education look elsewhere Strayer is not the place to go.

The University of Cincinnati is an excellent school and has prepared me not only for my career as a Certified Public Accountant and all the steps it took to get there, but also as a leader and an innovator. Every instructor I had as an accounting major was very passionate about their students learning and about the material itself. I was able to not only learn the material, but also understand what a real world career in accounting would be like from the instructors, from my peers, and most importantly... Read More from the co-op program offered at UC. I wish every program at every college offered the co-op program. It was by far the best decision because it not only helped me to network with other peers and local firms, but it enhanced my learning experience immensely. I cannot recommend the program enough! And I was lucky enough to be offered a job right out of college through the firm where I did my co-op with.

Illinois State University has been the best home away from home a girl can ask for. Not only are college courses difficult, but leaving home is especially difficult. From the moment I stepped foot on campus I felt a sense of home. The campus is large enough that it looks and feels like a college town, but small enough to still feel like you know all the ins and outs of the campus. Not only is the campus itself wonderful but the dorms are a great setting. Getting to join a Facebook community before... Read More college to talk and try and find a roommate was a great start, and then having a dining hall connected to my dorm was amazing! Not just that but there is a magnitude of housing and dining options to fit everyone's wants and needs. From there the classes are wonderful. The largest lecture I sat in was around 200 and that was only Freshman year for general education courses. From there my major courses have been class sizes of 20-30 with professors who are qualified to teach the subject and who genuinely care for your education. Outside of the classroom is where I feel ISU does their best work. The opportunities for joining Student Organizations are endless. With organizations for just about any interest or hobby it is not hard to find another home outside of the classroom. Professors often push student organization involvement on campus, and it is such a remarkable way to meet friends and further your education outside of the classroom. Moving from there ISU has many great connections with companies and host career and internship fairs to help find work post graduation. This is such an opportunity and shows that ISU truly cares about helping their students with a successful future. Overall, I love ISU (although I am biased) and feel that it truly the best college to attend.

Going to Binghamton was one of the best decisions I've made. It's a great education at a state-school price. Most students graduate with little to no debt and land pretty high paying jobs. I will always remember my time at Binghamton very fondly. There are tons of ways to get involved and find your niche. It's actually very unique because mostly everything is student run. There are no faculty advisers to the student government or the clubs so it's a rare opportunity to manage something huge at a... Read More very young age which looks awesome on a resume. Those opportunities do not exist at other schools where there is way more hand-holding and red tape. Binghamton is also a very diverse school in many ways and offers really good exposure to the real world. Lastly, the campus, especially after recent construction, is gorgeous and state-of-the-art. Almost all of the dorms are brand new and look like 5 star hotels. There are many new resources available and the university continues to find new ways to support its students.
