Student Reviews of Online Business Programs
The complaints that I have are few, but common to all the courses so I will start with the positives. There are no expensive textbooks, the professors do not get kickbacks from publishers, and the courses guide the student along the same exact path as universities that require expensive textbooks. That being said, virtually none of the courses in the undergraduate program have an umbrella course that wraps everything up or boosts the student to a professional level. For example, the managerial courses... Read More

This school is terrible! I can't say that enough. I feel cheated! They put me in a degree program. Then changed it after I took 5 classes starting they did a mistake. After all this they claimed they were getting financial aid but handed me Bill for over $10k.

I just enrolled in Penn Foster's B.Sc. in Business Management program a couple of weeks ago. There was a glitch in the enrollment process but it was because I'm located in Canada and they accidentally enrolled me as a "domestic" student. We had to cancel my initial enrolment and do it a second time. A minor inconvenience but it was quickly remedied. I hit the course materials hard, averaging roughly four or five hours a day of study time. The information is interesting and informative, and up-to-date.... Read More

Tough and expensive program but worth it. Admissions and Financial Aid offices did everything to help me expedite the processes. The academic advisors are great in the beginning but once you are in the program, they don't initiate person to person communication. The course work is serious and very valid. I learned a great deal that I immediately used in the workplace. I am happy to have competed the degree requirements. However, the school does not have a great reputation so I am not proud to walk... Please do not waste your money here. All my degree brought me was serious debt. They also do not have real job placement assistance. They will write you a resume. From there they tell you how you can enter it onto Indeed yourself. That is the extent of their job placement assistance. They wont tell you but they are a nationally accredited University, not regionally. Employers put a lot more stock in a degree from a regionally accredited university.

I have been attending UOP for a couple of years now. I have attended both local and online college as well. The first time I went to local college I tried to take online courses as well, but it was impossible. There was no instruction and I was clueless once I logged in and tried to attend the online courses so instead I just continued to go to class full-time which took forever, almost impossible to work and needed tutors from some of my Anatomy Courses as well.... I was initially a psych major and now have switched to Business Management. I would definitely stick with Business Management or Finance as my major if I had to choose again.
If you don't know what major you want to choose from the beginning take your pre-rec courses first and then go from there. If you are lucky to already be in an good work environment then you might want to pick a degree that you could excel with in your current work industry. Also, if you do not have a lot of time to dedicate to class, no matter what time, such as evening, morning or at night do not do online courses. Online course require time management, organization and dedication!

OCU offers active military, veterans and family members a reduces tuition rate of 250 per credit hour for all curriculum, Master, Bachelors and Associates. They are a faith- based school and work to apply the relevance of Christianity in every assignment. They are a fast paced school and the education you earn should pay dividends.

Do not go to this University if you are planning on being a commuter. You will regret it. Least commuter friendly campus I have attended, and I've been to a few. Obviously parking is abysmal, but that only scratches the surface. Draconian traffic enforcement designed to squeeze as much money out of you as possible, archaic online integration, and even the class schedules are frankly ill-suited for any commuter. Otherwise I have nothing exceptional to say. I liked some instructors, didn't like others.... Read More
