I've attended traditional brick and mortar schools. One of them being a state university. However, being a full-time employee and a full-time student is nearly impossible to make happen these days. At least if you value your health, time and money. So, I did a lot of research prior to enrolling in an online university and decided to go with Ashford. Like in most colleges, you will experience both good and bad instructors. Some were very helpful and some were anything but. Ashford has taken measures... Read More to improve its reputation and maintain its status as an accredited online university. This is very important if you intend to also follow up with a Masters and so forth. Be aware that online NOT for everyone. In fact, I would dissuade the majority of people from attending an online university unless they know for a fact they can be disciplined in their studies and not require face to face interaction to stay motivated. Some drawbacks were the advisors. They changed on me three times during my time at Ashford. That is NOT professional. Apparently, they have a high turnover rate. Not sure if that's still true today.

Bachelor's of Science in Business Management BSM. 60 credit program takes a little over two years. Phoenix participates in Prior Life Achievement program that gave me a little college credit for 4,000 word essay about my time as a business manager. Also they gave me some credits for National licenses I earned. I took the balance of my credits online and had a 3.78 GPA. It was NOT EASY. Don't go to UOP if you think it will be simple. It's real college for real serious people who need to keep working... Read More or moms who need to stay at home with family or work at home. Consider also, has your future employer Heard of your Online college you are going to? No? Yes? But EVERYONE knows about University of Phoenix. Yes they advertise a lot, but everyone know someone who got their degree their. So I went with them because I didn't want an employer in the future to have to check them out to see if they were a real University. So be prepared to put in 15 to 20 hours a week. But, hey, I went to school in my pajamas! OH, cool online library they have but make sure your enrollment rep shows you how to work it. One more thing: They have the coolest software you can put your essay you wrote through it and it will show you suggested corrections for English, grammar and punctuation!

I am a former student of Anthem College Online and I have earned a Bachelor's degree! ( I am so proud)... I'd like to take this opportunity to dismiss some of the negativity that I have read on this site. It seems that in this day and time not everyone is serious about education or understand why colleges other than universities exist. For this reason many choose to attend and give as little as possible of themselves, don't follow the rules and expect to cruise through the program with ease. When... Read More this doesn't happen they complain and give these institutions a bad name. TODAY I STAND UP FOR THESE SCHOOLS!! When you are serious and commit to a program, follow the rules, turn assignments in on time, stay up all night writing papers to earn the absolute best grade possible and go through the hard to complete a degree the program will work for you!!! But most of all I feel that most don't think about the fact that if it were not for these schools most working people would not have a chance to earn a degree. These programs are wonderful! It is sad that Anthem had to close but I would have recommended this school to anyone! It challenged me in many ways and it was not easy! Every instructor I had a Master's degree, some had Doctorate's along with tremendous backgrounds. They were all impressive. Nothing was given to me, I earned every grade I received. I want to be clear here for the employers that may come across these reviews, Anthem College Online was a great educational venue! I am proud to have attended

I attended University of Phoenix after being unsure of what I wanted to do, career wise. When I completed my education, I had hesitation of going back to school to further my career. I was a branch manager by the time I graduated and felt that I had already accomplished a lot with 7 years of work experience. In 2015, I decided that in order to further my career and develop myself, I had to further my education so that I could stand out from other candidates that may be applying for the same position.... I attended University of Phoenix after attending a public community college and attending a semester at a state public university. I work as a firefighter so the traditional class schedule for a University was near to impossible for me to complete at a regular structured University because of my rotating and inconsistent work schedule. I started attending UOP in 2010 and I graduated in 2012 with my Bachelor of Science Degree, I found the classes to be average, them seemed to have the same content... The education and instruction was average, I felt that the courses were pretty easy and not to challenging to the average college student, the education just took a lot of time. For the money and time I invested at UOP, I felt that I was not treated like a student, I was treated more like a customer buying product from a company. UOP seemed to put more emphasis on the monetary gain for their company verses serving what is in the best interest of the student. The cost started out being 1200 per 3 unit class when I started, and I believe I was paying close to 1800 per 3 units when I graduated, the extra cost of 600 per class, ouch. This caused me to have more student loan debt than I was originally expecting to pay. I also suffered from the stigma of the University of Phoenix name. I was competitively seeking a job in a tough job market back in 2008-2012. I was viewed as just another millennial that had a hooked on phonics degree for a mediocre, Online University. I found that people just viewed me as another number and not a hardworking and education person. I would recommend maybe choosing another option of a online University, there are a lot more Public and Private Colleges that have better degree programs that are more cost friendly and will yield the same gains. I spent well over $26,000 for 63 units of class to earn my bachelor degree

I love this school! Penn foster gives me the ability to work and study at my own pace. It is a fully accredited school. I had no trouble when I needed to extend my time. I am getting a quality education. They do not give any slack because you are doing it online. At this point I am fully satisfied that I am getting a quality education, fully accredited, and for a fraction of the cost I paid at Indiana Wesleyan University for my first degree. This one will be paid before I am finished and my employer... Read More has reimbursed my tuition. I could not be happier. They even gave fair or better on credits for classes from my previous degree. Jen

I attended the W.P. Carey School of Business at Arizona State University. Overall, I had a very pleasant and beneficial experience. I found that ASU offered an abundance of resources that were invaluable. From student organizations, scholarship databases, (free) tutoring services, and advisors, ASU tries to prepare their students for post-graduate success while simultaneously getting them involved. Perhaps my favorite thing about ASU was that they had a pre-law advisor that I was able to make an appointment with right away. I was provided all the information I needed to begin making preparations for law school. Additionally, I quickly found that there were multiple pre-law societies and clubs offered at ASU that I got to choose from. I found that my actual education at ASU was moderately difficult. My class work-load in the business program was relatively heavy, but I found that the teachers didnt require or encourage critical thinking exercises as much as I would have liked. Rather than challenging the students to break apart their analysis and answers within the classroom, a large amount of my professors simply spoon-fed the correct answers. Nevertheless, my professors opened my mind to new perspectives and ultimately helped me become a more educated and well-rounded individual. I was required to take theoretical classes as well as practical classes. This combination of knowledge has led me to feel prepared for the real-world while also feeling as though my minds limits have been stretched.
