UMUC was an excellent experience. I transferred there from a brick and mortar school and was initially worried. However, I found that I was more challenged and became a great deal more competent in what I was learning. I attended Argosy University for 2 years working towards a bachelor's in psychology. Things went decently for a while, but there were a couple of facilitators who were obnoxious. One wanted a 10 page paper in week 2 of the class that was only worth 200 points. I refused to do it as I worked full time and couldn't meet this demand. I still passed the class with a C. Then came my first statistics class 2 years after enrolling. The "professor" said he had his PHD, but anytime I tried to contact him,... Read More a woman talked to me in his place. During week 2 of the course, all students were doing the work correctly in the forum posts. However, the professor told everyone that we were inverting fractions and that it wasn't right. In all actuality, the professor was the one inverting the fractions and this caused students to make corrections of their work, which was right the first time, to how he wanted it. Example 6/2=3. Professor was telling the entire class that 2/6=3. I was the only one who said no this is not right and that he was misleading the class. He finally agreed with me that He was wrong and his excuse was that he was thinking of odds; which made no sense at all. I filed a complaint, unenrolled, and was told that I could not get my official transcripts for the 66 credits that I had completed through them to transfer to another university unless I paid them $235.50. Not once was I notified that I owed them money until I tried to get my transcripts two years later. I was never sent a bill nor a statement. I received an unofficial email stating I owed this amount because I withdrew and my financial aide didn't cover it. I asked them to waive it due to them having an incompetent professor in the classroom. They said no. I said this feels like extortion. They told me to get a lawyer then. $20,000+ of debt later and I cannot transfer these credits without transcripts. I've tried multiple times to contact finance and the registrar, but they refuse to contact me back in regards to this issue. Either I pay the money or I kiss my academics goodbye. Stay away from this university. They don't give a c*** about your education. I will continue to request my transcripts that I earned, however each time my request is denied. Get a lawyer they say... This university is negligent on so many fronts in regards to my case. Stay away. You'll only be left with a sour taste in your mouth.

My main issue at this point with Liberty is not related to the financial aid department but the Disability office. I am blind and during the first two years of my education worked with a wonderful and helpful women that made my work at Liberty enjoyable. After she left the school her replacement remains terrible at her job. She is rude, dismissive, and down right lazy. I am in my last semester and a class I am taking ends in three days and I still have yet to get my books for the class because she... Read More was off for several weeks and they had no one to take up that responsibility. I purchased and submitted my books request 2 months before the semester started (which is part of their policy). Thankfully I have had an understanding professor that has let me do most of the assignments using outside materials but now I have 8 quizzes to make up with no book. When I email the department it takes weeks for them to reply or a generic email is sent stating that I will receive my books through fedex with no ETA. It is also almost impossible to speak with them by phone. They should remove the term Christian from their title because of how people with disabilities are treated.

National University has been an absolutely amazing experience. After separating from Active Duty military service I immediately enrolled in National Universities Bachelor of Arts Psychology program. The online courses are not for the faint hearted. You are completely teaching yourself with the support of some fantastic career professionals. You are allowed to self explore and interpret the material yourself without any bias, or significant influence from outsiders. Extremely fast paced so I suggest you have extremely tuned organizational skills as well as the ability to prioritize.

UCF always felt like a home to me, despite its huge campus and student body. Within my specific major I found lots of resources and support. Peer advisors were especially helpful because it was advice given from actual students who took the same classes I did. I also enjoyed most of my classes, and those classes I found difficult, the professors and teaching assistants always took the time to help me understand concepts and prepare for exams. I loved my time as an undergrad at UCF and would recommend it to anyone. College is what you make of it, and UCF offers lots of opportunities to make college the best years of your life.

Wichita State University is a great school! They offer degrees and student life for both working professionals and the traditional college student adventure. There are flexible schedule times and class types, a really helpful financial aid department, and an amazing staff at Disability Support Services for students who accommodations. Located in Orlando, FL, the University of Central Florida provides their large number of students with vast opportunities no matter what degree program you're in. For Psychology, I felt that the Psychology advising department gave me the leg up on any psych-related opportunities and assisted me in engaging with extra-curricular activities in the university.
