The program I attended worked out well for me. It was priced reasonably and had sufficient flexibility of class schedule to make it manageable around other life activities.

Most of my classes were online, but the program is one of the only Knowledge Management - User Experience Design Masters programs in the country. It was a wonderful thing to be able to continue my career in another state and continue my education at the same time.

Nothing quite prepares you for a career in librarianship like actual hands on experience. Library science is just one of those occupations that you can read the text book all day long, but still experience something you never encountered in a classroom once you're out in the field. The MLIS at Kent State has excellent professors who are leaders in the field, they excel in their research and have valuable knowledge and experience to impart. The program provides students with the opportunity to work in the library at Kent or in Columbus, so more practical knowledge can be gained as well. I live at home, not on campus, and take all online courses so I can not answer things about local KSU's transportation, surrounding area, student diversity, social life, campus safety, nor of its affordability of living.
