I had never heard of Kent State University until it was recommended to me, since I was moving to the Youngstown, Ohio area. I took the words of a friend that the school would be the best place for me to earn my master's degree versus the other colleges in the area. Having never seen or heard of the school, I applied and was accepted. The curriculum met my needs, the professors went above and beyond the call of duty, and the students were phenomenal. After graduating, I did not visit the campus again until 2016 because I moved out of state. When I saw the campus again, I was even more impressed than I was when I was working on my degree. The campus had grown and become more diverse. If I currently lived in the area, I would be working on my doctoral degree at Kent State University.

Kent State's Counseling program is full of many passionate and genuine professors that will work hard to guide you into the field! The main courses provide a great overview of the material needed, and the practical courses teach you the skills necessary to become a successful counselor. However, I would enjoy the opportunity to have a wider range of speciality options within the program. The clinic on campus provides a great way to get hands-on experience in the field, and also give back to the community... Read More in which you are earning your education!

I'm really enjoying my online Master's of Music Education degree at Kent State University. I like the convenience of taking courses online and not many schools are providing master's of music ed online yet. The admissions staff and student support personnel are wonderful with communication and assisting you when you need help. I find the courses to be insightful and moderately challenging. There is a fair amount of work load and I do with the courses were a week or two longer to provide more time... Read More to finish projects. But overall, I am still able to work full-time and get everything finished. I would recommend this program to anyone.

Kent State University's online Masters in Music Education is an outstanding program. There is an abundance of support available for this to be a successful experience, even for those who aren't the most tech savy. Pros include having a student service rep who calls me twice during each course to inquire how my class is going and if I have any questions or concerns, professors who are prompt in responding to course questions, 24/7 live tech support available, 7 week long classes, practical courses... Read More and challenging course work that equips me to be more proficient in my profession as a music educator. I have yet to experience a con at KSU with this program of study.

I feel the doctoral program in Curriculum and Instruction is extremely more in depth and answers the questions I still held after finishing the Masters program at Kent State University. Although I took the same program as a Masters student, the course work is completely different. I have stayed in the Education program and at first felt that I did not get enough support but I realize now that I was at that point just begining my career and was lost, confulsed and overall very overwhelmed with college myself. I do not know if anyone could really help me understand how to get through college but my own self. I would highly suggest Kent State to other students looking for a college to attend. The student body is very diverse and the professors have been extremely welcoming expecially as you continue your education at a higher level.
