So far, this school has been more of a headache and stress. I just started a summer 16-week pathology course and am expected to write weekly discussions and/or papers on top of reading and taking the four exams. You have to get an average of 80% on all exams to pass or you automatically fail. This school is not worth the time, money, and mental stress. I am fairly good with online learning and self-teaching, but I do not think it is appropriate to be requiring masters students, who usually are working... Read More

I believe Maryville University is an excellent school for my FNP education. The classes encourage me to learn and the professors are encouraging and helpful. I have thoroughly enjoyed the classes and I believe I am learning a great deal towards my FNP degree. I would highly recommend Maryville University. Maryville is an affordable education at a top notch private catholic university.

I believe the pros of on-line nurse practitioner/masters program is the ease of working at your available schedule. This makes working, having a family and furthering my education possible. For a returning student who has been out of the education scene for several years, the new technology is probably the most challenging. Fortunately, Maryville University has wonderful resources for the new technology. So far I'm enjoying my experience.

I feel there are only pros to my graduate program, I am able to complete my nurse practitioner degree at home online and do my clinical components local as well all while being able to still work full time. Price of tuition very comparable to the local colleges around me.

Pros of my graduate program are the flexibility, and great communication with staff and faculty. Cons of my program are the length of the program and inability to provide sufficient financial aid.

Maryville University has a good FNP/MSN program. The faculty members as well as advisors are accessible and willing to help the students. As with any online/distance-learning program, it is difficult to find a preceptor. That and the fact that the only financial aid offered is loans, are the only cons so far. I have enjoyed my instructors and peers.

The online Family Nurse Practitioner program at Maryville allows me, as a mother and full time RN, to complete my MSN on my own time schedule while still receiving a top notch education.
