I decided to go back to school. I had attended when it was Ashford University. First of all, I had to switch to a different major because my prior major had been discontinued. I had 19 credits to finish in order to get my Bachelor's Degree. After enrolling, it changed to 30 (??). No one told me about this, so I called when I found out and was told that due to my new major, I had to take additional classes. My first class started on January 10, 2023. Two days later I received my financial aid award... Read More letter and discovered that my student loans would not cover the cost of my classes. I could not get the Pell Grant anymore, by the way, I was never told this. So, each semester I would have roughly $1000 that I had to pay. I called my enrollment advisor and told her my concerns, she emailed me a list of organizations that I could join (at a cost) that could POTENTIALLY award me a grant or scholarship. After researching things, I decided to withdraw from UAGC because these grants/scholarships were not guaranteed. I immediately (one day later) contacted my enrollment advisor via email to say I wanted to withdraw. One week later, no contact, no callback, no emails. Today I finally spoke with someone who initially tried to talk me into staying at the school. I said I was frustrated and only wanted out. She had to forward my information to someone else who would initiate the withdrawal and give me a callback. Hopefully they do, but I don't have any faith in this. In my opinion there are many other more reasonable schools out there. UAGC was helpful in the process of enrolling, but when you have a problem, no one really cares. I found another school that fits me financially and plan to attend classes there. I will lose some credits but hell UAGC added more classes anyway to milk my loan money. In my opinion, please find another school. REMEMBER THEY ARE STILL ASHFORD UNIVERSITY OPERATING UNDER ANOTHER NAME. SAME PRACTICES, SAME MISLEADING INFORMATION, AND STILL THE SAME FINANCIAL GAINS GAMES TO MAKE MONEY.

I entered Ashford Feb 2018 taking educational courses to obtain my Bachelor's degree in Education. I completed my program with high honors Oct 2019. Every time I inquired about taking courses pertaining to my content area I was rerouted to someone else, but was never answered. August of 2019 I received an email from academic advisor with an after graduation action plan. As I went through the action plan it kept rerouting me to other schools to obtain my licensing. It's now four months after my graduation I am told have to go back to another school in my state to obtain another 32 hours to get an alternative teachers license. This was a complete waste of my time and money. I was told today, Feb 11, 2020, that none of their degrees lead to licensing, that they lead to alternatives to licensing. THIS SCHOOL IS FRAUDULENT. Peace/blessings! I received my Bachelors/Masters degree from Ashford in 2014/2016 respectively. Both of my degrees were online. Personally I do not understand those making negative remarks about Ashford. My experience was remarkable and rewarding, to say the least. Whenever there was a problem it was handled in the swiftest of time. My degrees have allowed me to relocate to China in Nov. 2015 to teach in English. When I started at Ashford University as an Education major I was told that I would be able to become licensed in my state with student teaching and state testing after I graduated. This is completely untrue! If I want to become licensed I will have to complete a second Bachelor's degree. Ashford is ambiguous in their wording and my academic advisor assured me that I would be able to accomplish my goals through Ashford multiple times. Be careful if you choose to go to Ashford, they are predatory and... Read More will continue calling you and telling you what you want to hear in order to get you to attend school there. The teachers are usually unavailable and most grading is a complete joke. I made a few friends through my program and we all found that even those who would write in "text speech" or put complete non-sense in their papers would still receive a 90 or higher. A friend once wrote "monkeys like bananas because they are yellow" in the middle of an essay to see if the instructor would notice, he did not and then they continued to create even more odd sentences in the papers and nothing was ever said to him. Save your money and learn more somewhere else!

Ashford University is a FOR PROFIT PREDATORY INSTITUTION! Their counselors will tell you whatever you want to hear ; in an effort to lure you in... once there: They are like "Hotel California". To request withdrawal from a class (even if your in an automobile accident) is fruitless if the professor is needy. After 2 to 3 weeks of no communication they will then "Administratively Withdrawal" the student and process loan paperwork that will result in a 200% increase due to "Fees" and administrative... After looking at many options, I was referred to Ashford by a friend and although I did run into a few professors that were at times hard to deal with, I was able to battle through it and finish up my degree. Having three credit courses every five weeks lead to a lot of work at times, but if you just use the resources available and complete your assignments, you will get a lot out of Ashford. I have three jobs, a new baby, and one child with a disability so it was very stressful and made it hard to sometimes get assignments completed on time. I really feel that because of the challenges I had, it made it that much sweeter when I finally finished up my degree. Anyone that is thinking about choosing Ashford, be ready to write a lot of essays but if you are not a great test taker like me, this is a great alternative.

I have been with Ashford university for over a year now and I don't like how they have their computers make the schedule. The computer scheduled me for a class that wasn't part of my degree plan and then it changed my degree plan to match it a few days later. I emailed my advisor about it and the only response I had gotten was that it was. I responded that I was angry about the change and willing to leave the college if they enforced this change from the computer. My schedule did get changed back,... Read More but it's been a day and a half since I responded and never got any communication from them about it. This isn't the first time the computer scheduled something incorrectly and I had to address it myself. There is no checks and balance system for their computer system and the advisors only do a little bit of the actual scheduling. It's up to the student (which has to pay full attention to the changes made in their degree plan/schedule) to ensure that the computer is doing the right thing. I would not suggest this college to anyone because they treat you as a number in their system and they will only call you if you are late on your assignments or have paper work to fill out. If it's something that they own you, good luck receiving any information on it from them unless you ask. The only reason why I'm staying in this college is because I only have 1 year left and the college I received my Associates from doesn't have a Bachelor's degree program in education.
