I'm going to keep this brief. I transferred from my on campus tech school to Devry after my I accepted a full time job that didn't allow me to go to physical classes. It's true, many of the course material is outdated and the material can be googled . However, I did find many of the information useful and up to date. Networking is constantly changing, so that's important. The teachers usually work with your schedule for the most part. Now here's my problem with Devry. unfortunately I failed that... Read More last two classes before graduation. I had too much going on and I fell off track. Devry called me constantly attempting to collect a $3,000 balance and even told me interest (just as much as a credit card) with be tacked on if I did not pay within a certain time. What kind of school does this to its students. So now here I am, 5 credits from receiving my diploma paying a Devry account that went into collections because I didn't have the $3000 up front or the $300 monthly payment plan they told me I could afford. The courses at Devry are absolutely over priced for the overall quality of the school. They do have some benefits but its not worth it to me. After I pay my balance in full, I'll be finishing the remainder of my degree elsewhere if possible. This school nothing but a business in it for the money. I don't believe they genuinely care about their students. No, I would not recommend them.

I just graduated this week July 2015 from the Respiratory Therapy program at IU and while attending I did have a few issues. I started in September 2013 after I transferred from a local college following a illness and doing online would make it easier so it would not matter if I had to miss class. I didn't have clinicals at the time, so I was not worried about being too sick to go to clinicals either. I started school and had a lot of classes transfer from my previous school, and by the time I recovered... Read More from my illness I was ready to attend clinicals. I started clinicals and attended for about 4 months when the facility decided not to allow students because a student from another school in a different profession had done a procedure without the instructor present. Therefore I lost my site through no fault of my own and they had to get another site for me, and in the meantime the NC Board of Governor's who regulate education requirements for colleges in NC had received complaints from the local colleges that IU was taking up clinical spots in an already competitive market. The Board of Governors then informed IU that they could no longer practice in the state of NC and if they did the associates degrees in Respiratory Therapy would be worthless. They would only allow them to grant degrees if they paid the fees and licensing fees to practice in the state of NC. This process involves flying the BOG to the main campus of the school, having them tour the campus, waiting for their approval, paying a $5000. initial fee, and then a fee for every degree with a different fee for associate, bachelors, and masters. Then they want the school to have a physical campus here in NC. I find this insane as well as a violation of my choice to go to whatever school I want to go to get my education. It did take me some time and I had to drop from school for a bit, but I did finally get done. The bad part is that I suffered because of the lack of clinical sites that were offered in NC. I was already set up to go to a site that is one of the largest healthcare providers in NC and I work for them. but because I could not get permission from the BOG, I was forced to go to a much smaller hospital in order to finish the program and graduate. It had it's pros and cons; the opportunities were few and it was mostly doing breathing treatments and being in the Emergency Room, or it was all hands on deck because the therapists at that particular facility have a much broader scope of practice than at other facilities. Any school is going to have issues no matter what so keep that in mind, but specific to this school and program is to make sure you have a clinical site secure before you enroll in the program. Make sure it is one they have either used for awhile and see if there may be more than one choice. You can always see if the facility where you work may be your clinical site, but make sure you get the paperwork done before you start school. Good luck in pursuing your degree from IU because it is hard work and worth it.

If I had to do it all again, I would NOT choose IADT/Sanford Brown. I really struggled with this school. Not because it was hard, but because it is BORING. And with the classes, I really don't feel like I learned much of anything. Do I feel confident using my degree to get a job in design, definitely not. I feel like I just wasted so much time, money and energy at this school. While the teachers are really nice and somewhat helpful, and so is the academic staff, the classes are so fast, and unless... Read More you have time to literally sit and study all day every day, you are not going to get much out of it. The quick lessons you get via live chats are great, but since you can't download them, and they are gone after the class is done, good luck. I did so many classes that other design schools don't even require you to take for a design degree. And I really don't feel like I've taken many actual design classes during my time at IADT. I feel like I just waste 2 years.

I...for the life of me can't seem to understand why anyone would ever consider ECPI University to be beneficial for military members. All they want is that GI Bill. Nevermind your technical training or hands-on experience. Oh, and did I mention they make it damn near impossible to transfer credits from other ACCREDITED schools. I had to start over from scratch. Money is their motive. You fail to attend one day, and you can literally fail a whole class, due to it being an accelerated program, and... Read More guess what....you're paying for that same class all over again. It's best if you have children to make sure they're NEVER sick or have to stay home. The classrooms are freezing cold, there are only overpriced vending machines, and lunch breaks are only 20 minutes, which gives you zero time to even pick up something. I could go on for days. I'm disappointed in myself for staying so long. A transfer is in my near future.
