Student Reviews of Online Accounting Programs

HS, Graduated 2018

I would not do this school because they cannot get my accommodations right and tried to find other alternatives. The only solution is that I retake the test again, which was not helpful and did not resolve the issue. The test proctors are a joke and do not follow rules especially when it comes from disabled students. This school is unstructured and does not respect their students especially when it comes to accommodations. If you do not believe me, try it out for a while and you will see the truth.... Read More

I did my research an was aware that this school was nationally accredited. I completed my associate degree and was able to transfer to Western Governors University. I sat for the national exam for Bookekeepers, passed and now a staff accountant. A majority of my credits trasnferred to WGU so I can't complain. I'm set to graduate from WGU this spring and could not have done it without Ashworth. I'm also eligible to sit for my CPA in the future. Accounting-student, Graduated 2016

Attended: Thomas Edison State University

Edison State is a great school for adults who are self-directed, who have credits from other schools, and who are willing to put in the work and time to finish their degrees. Being self-directed is critical. TESU has a lot of different ways to earn credits, such as taking courses online, testing out of courses (TECEP, CLEP, DSST, e-Pack, etc), portfolio evaluations, and transferring credits from other schools. Portfolios are a great way to go for adults who have a lot of experience in a particular... Read More

ACCOUNTING GRAD, Graduated 2018

Attended: Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania

Loved the small town location of the University, met great people, and there is always plenty of stuff going on. Don't go to Bloom if you want to get an Accounting degree. The majority of the professors in the department are horrible, could care less about the students, and find it funny to fail people instead of helping them (I didn't fail, I just saw it happen a lot). I had to basically teach myself everything. If you are interested in Audiology, Nursing, or Teaching Bloomsburg has a very good... Read More

School has good diversity given the small size. Classes are very personal. Overall education level is adequate, but not necessarily exceptional. You get your teachers that really care, and you get your teachers that don't. Overall I thoroughly enjoyed my experience.

The university was a valuable experience that I do not regret. The cost of the program is a little high compared to other options. The school is in a great city and I have fallen in love with Nashville. Some programs such as business, music, and nursing would be recommended at Belmont, while other programs are not the same quality.

Tell us about your college experience.

I liked Balmer Hall and the friends I met.

Would you get the same degree if you could start over?

Accounting has been good for me. Might have wanted to do archeology but could not stand the heat.

What advice can you offer other students?

Do a useful field of study. Don't study something useless.
